Oracle Cloud is designed to deliver data isolation and flexible upgrades, self-service control for users, a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) for integration with on-premise systems, built-in social, mobile and business insight capabilities; and a high availability infrastructure based on Oracle Engineered Systems. Oracle Cloud Platform-as-a-Service is designed to deliver Oracle Database and Java services in the cloud so that developers can extend Oracle Cloud Applications or build new applications. Customers and partners can use its open, standards-based Java platform based on Oracle WebLogic Server and its Oracle Database as a cloud service, including tools for rapid application development; flexible cloud-based file sharing and collaboration; intuitive business tools for analysis and reporting; and mobile device connectivity.
