As of December 31, 2013, a total of 758 companies listed securities on its Nordic and Baltic exchanges and NASDAQ OMX First North. Customers issue securities in the form of cash equities, depository receipts, warrants, ETFs, convertibles, rights, options, bonds or fixed-income related products. In 2013, a total of 34 new companies were listed on its Nordic and Baltic exchanges and NASDAQ OMX First North. Information Services The company’s Information Services segment includes its Market Data Products and its Index Licensing and Services businesses. Market Data Products The company’s Market Data Products business includes its U.S. and European market data products and index data products businesses. U.S. Market Data Products: The company’s market data products enhance transparency and provide critical information to professional and non-professional investors. The company collects, processes and creates information and earn revenues as a distributor of its own, as well as select, third-party content. The company provides varying levels of quote and trade information to market participants and to data distributors, who in turn provide subscriptions for this information. The company’s systems enable distributors to gain direct access to its market depth, index values, mutual fund valuation, order imbalances, market sentiment and other analytical data. Revenues from U.S. market data products are subscription-based and are generated primarily based on the number of data subscribers and distributors of its data. The company distributes this proprietary market information to both market participants and non-participants through a number of proprietary products. The company uses its broad distribution network of approximately 2,000 market data distributors to deliver data regarding its market depth, index values, mutual fund valuation, order imbalances, market sentiment and other analytical data.
