The company offers its users an eco-system of six related e-commerce services: the MercadoLibre Marketplace, The MercadoLibre Classifieds Service, the MercadoPago payments solution, the MercadoLibre Advertising program, the MercadoShops on-line stores solution and the Mercado Envios shipping service. MercadoLibre Marketplace The MercadoLibre Marketplace is an Internet-based commerce platform where buyers and sellers could meet, and consummate e-commerce transactions for a range of goods and services. Any Internet user could browse through the various products and services that are listed on its Website and register for free with MercadoLibre to list, bid for and purchase items and services. The MercadoLibre Marketplace offers buyers a selection of new and used items that are often more expensive or otherwise hard to find through traditional offline sellers, such as brick-and-mortar retail establishments, offline classified advertisements, community bulletin boards, auction houses and flea markets. During 2014, visitors to its Website were able to browse an average of approximately 23.2 million Marketplace listings daily, organized by country, in approximately 2,600 different product categories. As of December 31, 2014, the company had approximately 120.9 million confirmed registered MercadoLibre users. The Classifieds Solution The MercadoLibre Classifieds solution enables users to list their offerings related to vehicles, real estate, and services outside the marketplace platform. Classifieds listings differ from marketplace listings, as they only charge optional placement fees, and never final value fees. During 2014, the company had a total of 2.3 million unique sellers and 11.6 million paid listings through classifieds. The MercadoPago online payments solution To complement the MercadoLibre Marketplace, the company developed MercadoPago, an integrated online payments solution. MercadoPago is designed to facilitate transactions both on and off the MercadoLibre Marketplace by providing a mechanism that allows its users to send and receive payments online. MercadoPago is available to MercadoLibre users in each of Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile and Colombia. MercadoPago is also available for purchases of goods and services outside the MercadoLibre Marketplace, as an open on-line payment service in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile and Colombia. Strategy The company seeks to serve people in Latin America by offering a collection of e-commerce services that could improve the quality of life of those who use it, while creating significant value for its stockholders. The company serves its buyers by giving them access to various products and services than those available on other online and offline venues.
