Mobile TeleSystems PJSC provides telecommunication services in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. The company provides a range of mobile and fixed line voice and data telecommunications services, including data transfer, broadband, pay-TV and various value-added services, as well as sells equipment and accessories. As of December 31, 2014, the company had a mobile subscriber base of approximately 98.8 million (approximately 74.6 million in Russia, 20.2 million in Ukraine, 2.1 million in Armenia, 1.7 million in Turkmenistan and 0.2 million in Uzbekista. Mobile Operations Services Offered Network Access: The company primarily offers mobile cellular voice and data communication services to its subscribers on the basis of various tariff plans designed for different market segments. Automatic Roaming: As of December 31, 2014, the company had bilateral roaming contracts with 762 wireless operators in 227 countries, including 14 regional operators in Russia. Value-Added Services: The company offers various value-added services to its customers. These services might be included in the tariff plan selected by the subscriber or subscribers might pay additional monthly charges, and in some cases, usage charges for them. Some basic value-added services that the company offers include blackberry; call barring; call waiting; call divert/forwarding; SMS; MMS; caller ID display and anti-caller ID display; mobile office; melody ring tones; conference calling; voicemail; missed call alert; Wi-Fi; mobile banking; itemization of monthly bills; location-based service (LBS); wireless application protocol (WAP); information and directory service; general packet radio service (GPRS); MTS-Connect; international access service; intelligent call assistant; MTS-Tablet; WEB and WAP portal; APN remote access point; SIM-browser; real IP; fixed mobile convergence; point-to-point transfer; automatic customer care system and customer care system through the Internet; EDGE; unstructured supplementary services data (USSD); ring back tone; e-shop; high-speed packet access + (HSPA +); collect call; personal cabinet (Internet helper); dual-carrier high-speed downlink packet access + (DC-HSDPA+); my subscriptions; LTE; mobile TV; SMS Pro (SMS black list, autoreply, forward, and storage); MTS-News (ICB Service); black list; second memory (cloud storage); VOD (video on demand); data share plan; and LTE RAN sharing. The company also provides various voice and SMS-based value-added services in cooperation with various content providers. Internet Access: The company offers GPRS services, enabling its subscribers to access the Internet, WAP and MMS in all of the countries where the company operates. The company also provides international data transfer roaming to its subscribers, enabling them to use various GPRS/3G based services while traveling abroad. The company also offers the MTS-Connect service, which allows its subscribers to get mobile Internet access through a GPRS/EDGE/3G/LTE/HSDPA/HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) connection, using a computer, PC-card and USB-modem. This service is available to the company’s subscribers in Russia and Ukraine and in approximately 217 countries where the company has GPRS roaming. GPRS, EDGE Services: The company continues supporting and modernizing its 2G network and puts the prime focus at the development of its 3G and LTE networks to provide the company’s subscribers with high-speed broadband wireless services. As of December 2014, the company provided GSM, GPRS and EDGE services with approximately 34,000 2G through over the geographic area with approximately 94% of population of Russia. 3G Technology: The company develops a 3G femtocell network. In Turkmenistan, the company provides services based on 3G technology in Ashgabat only. LTE Technology: The company offers LTE services in Kazan. In 2014, the company started DCS 1800 spectrum refarming to LTE and rolled out LTE-1800 network, while expanding LTE 800/2600 coverage.
