contain an identifier which automatically sets the oximeter to monitor with maximum sensitivity and the shortest-averaging mode and allows for quick application, even in wet and slippery environments Blue Sensors: The company offers a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared sensor to monitor arterial blood oxygen saturation levels in cyanotic infants and children with abnormally low oxygen saturation levels. E1 Ear Sensor: In 2011, the company introduced the single-patient-use ear sensor that is placed in the ear conchae, so clinicians can combine Masimo SET performance and central monitoring to provide quick access and responsive assessment of oxygenation. The E1 Sensor is ideal for field emergency medical services utilization. Rainbow Sensors: The company develops proprietary, multi-wavelength sensors for use with its rainbow Pulse CO-Oximetry products. Its rainbow sensors can monitor carboxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin, and hemoglobin. The company’s licensed rainbow SET sensors are compatible with its licensed rainbow SET products. Rainbow sensors are available in single-patient use, ReSposable, and reusable spot-check sensor types. SEDLine Sensor: Used with the SEDLine monitor, the SEDLine sensor is a disposable sensor that collects a high volume of brain function data from key areas of the frontal lobe. Rainbow Universal ReSposable SuperSensor: This sensor (pending FDA 510(k) clearance in the U.S.), is the noninvasive sensor to provide simultaneous monitoring of SpHb, SpCO, SpMet, SpfO2, SpOC, Perfusion Index, PVI, and Measure-Through Motion and Low Perfusion SpO2 and pulse rate. Remote Alarm and Monitoring Solutions Masimo Patient SafetyNet: Patient SafetyNet is a remote monitoring and clinician notification system. It routes bedside-generated alarms through a server to a qualified clinician’s handheld paging device in real-time. Each system can support approximately 80 bedside monitors and can either be integrated into a hospital’s existing IT infrastructure or operate as a stand-alone wireless network. X-Cal In 2011, the company implemented a technology called X-Cal in its sensors, cables, and instruments to improve patient safety and improve clinician efficiency. X-Cal preserves system quality, performance, and reliability by reducing imitation sensor and cable use and monitoring component life.
