MagIndustries Corp. engages in operating and developing industrial projects in the Republic of Congo (ROC) and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Business Units The company is organized around four principal business units: MagMinerals, MagForestry, MagEnergy, and MagMetals. The operations of both MagMinerals and MagForestry are located in the Pointe-Noire area of the ROC. MagMinerals MagMinerals' principal asset is comprised of rights relating to the Property, a 1,472 square kilometers area within Kouilou province of the ROC, located approximately 15 km northeast of the city of Pointe-Noire, ROC. The company's immediate focus is to construct and commission a 600,000 tonne per year potash plant on the Property to produce primarily agricultural-grade potash fertilizers to serve markets in South America, South Africa and Europe. The proposed plant site, near the village of Mengo, is located 25 km east of the Atlantic port city of Pointe-Noire, ROC. MagForestry MagForestry wholly owns and operates Eucalyptus Fibre Congo (EFC), a renewable forestry business based in Pointe-Noire, ROC. EFC has the rights to manage this 68,000 hectare concession. The concession is based on the planting and harvesting of clones of eucalyptus hardwoods. A part of the concession is overlain by mining and mineral exploration permits granted to MagForestry's sister company, MagMinerals. The EFC plantation supplies a 500,000 tonne per year wood chip plant built by EFC on its concession lands within the port of Pointe-Noire. MagEnergy MagEnergy engages in financing and project managing the refurbishment and rehabilitation of off-line turbines at the Inga hydro-electric facility located on the Congo River, 300 km south west of the Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC. MagMetals MagMetals intends to produce magnesium metal and magnesium alloys for the automotive industry in a facility that would be built adjacent to the MagMinerals' potash plant, utilizing the magnesium-rich waste stream from the MagMinerals potash production facility.
