In 2015, through an agreement with Comcast Corporation, its Internet customers would also have access to millions of new WiFi access points in the U.S. and across various European countries. In its other markets, its broadband Internet service is available on a standalone basis or in combination with one or more of its other services. Telephony: Multi-feature fixed-line telephony services are available through its managed, quality of service based voice-over-Internet-protocol (VoIP) technology in all of its broadband communication markets. In the U.K., Chile and Hungary, the company also provides traditional circuit-switched fixed-line telephony services. The company’s fixed-line telephony service includes a basic fixed-line telephony product for line rental and various calling plans, which consist of any of the following: unlimited network, national or international calling, unlimited off-peak calling and minute packages, including calls to fixed and mobile phones. The company also offers value added services, such as a personal call manager, unified messaging and a second or third phone line at an incremental cost. In some of its markets, the company offers a phone app that allows its fixed-line telephony customers with smartphones to use their fixed-line call packages. Mobile: The company offers mobile services, both data and voice, as an MVNO over third-party networks in the U.K., Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Chile and Hungary. In Poland, the company has a small legacy MVNO service that the company maintains for those subscribers. The company offers its mobile services throughout the U.K., Belgium, Austria and Chile. The company’s mobile services in Hungary are available in select areas. In the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland, the company offers its mobile service to its customers located within its footprints who subscribe to at least one of its other products: video, broadband Internet or fixed-line telephony. The company’s mobile services include voice, short message service (or SMS) and Internet or data access. The company’s standalone mobile services are primarily on a postpaid basis with customers subscribing to services for periods ranging from activation for a SIM-only contract to up to 24 months, with the latter often taken with a subsidized mobile handset. Business Services In addition to its residential services, the company offers voice, broadband Internet, data, video, wireless and cloud services to business customers and public sector organizations. The company’s business services are designed to meet the specific demands of the business customer. These services differ from residential services in various fundamental ways, such as bandwidth, service levels, billing, security services and the blending of public and private network features. The company’s business customers include small or home office (SOHO) (generally fewer than 10 employees), small business and medium and large enterprises, as well as on a wholesale basis to other operators.
