Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, designs and markets integrated circuits. The company’s key markets include automotive; communications; industrial, medical and military (IMM); and digital consumer. Its primary products are DRAM in both package and Known Good Die (KGD) form, high speed and low power SRAM, serial and parallel NOR flash memory and various mixed signal and analog products. The company targets large markets with its semiconductor products and seeks to build long-term relationships with its customers. Strategy A key part of the company’s strategy is to offer a long-term commitment supplying many of the legacy DRAM and SRAM memories that are of less interest to many large competitors in its industry. Markets and Products The company’s memory products are used in various specific applications within the automotive, communications, IMM, and digital consumer markets. Many of the same customers that purchase its DRAM products also purchase its SRAM products. DRAM: The company’s DRAM strategy is to be a long-term supplier of DRAM products. The company provides 4Mb to 512Mb and 1Gb to 8Gb DRAM products, including a 1.8 volt low power version of its 16, 64, 128, 256 and 512Mb synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) products. The company also provides EDO, SDRAM, DDR DDR2 and DDR3 memory solutions in both x 32 and x 16 configurations to meet its customers’ memory requirements. The company provides 288Mb and 576Mb densities of the RLDRAM family. RLDRAM memory is a reduced latency DRAM product targeting high speed communication applications. The company is ramping production of various densities of DDR3 DRAM products. It also offers both high performance and lower density memory solutions. Applications for the company’s DRAM products include products, such as wireless local area networks, base stations, networking switches and routers, fiber to the home, modems, set top boxes, digital cameras, MP3, flat panel TVs, LCD TVs, HDTVs, video phones, voice over Internet protocol, printers, disk drives, tape drives, audio/video equipment, instrumentation, GPS, telematics, infotainment, backup cameras, lane departure warning systems and other applications. Additional DRAM products are under development. For most SDRAM products, the company offers both packaged and KGD only solutions. The company also offers FBGA packages, which are very small and thin, for all of its synchronous and low power DRAM products. SRAM: The company’s SRAM strategy is to offer a range of devices and to be a complete supplier of its customers’ SRAM requirements. The company offers products, such as its 72Mb synchronous SRAM, and it also makes long-term supply commitments on established SRAM products, such as a 32K x 8, 5 volt asynchronous SRAM. The company offers both asynchronous and synchronous high speed SRAM products. Its high speed asynchronous SRAM products are used in applications, such as LANs, telecommunication equipment, such as base stations, routers, modems, automotive electronics, multimedia products, peripherals, and industrial instrumentation. The company has also developed a low power family of SRAM products for various applications. Its high speed synchronous SRAM products are used in various networking and telecommunications applications, such as switches and routers, as well as in automotive and industrial applications. Additional SRAM products under development are expected to include performance-leading features in speed, configuration, power levels, density and packaging. The company is developing certain Psuedo SRAM products as a replacement for ultra low power SRAMs. NOR Flash: The company offers serial NOR flash products targeting the personal computer peripheral, automotive, IMM and communication markets. Products in production include 256Kb, 512Kb, 1Mb, 2Mb, 4Mb, 8Mb, 16Mb and 32Mb devices. The company has various products that are in the engineering validation stage, including 64Mb and 128Mb devices. The company is also ramping production of 32Mb, 64Mb, and 128Mb parallel NOR flash products. Analog and Other Products: The company offers analog and mixed signal integrated ci
