Significant Events In May 2015, Hilton Worldwide announced the signing of a management agreement with the Hospitality Division of the Mohammad Omar Bin Haider Holding Group to open Hilton Dubai World Central (DWC). The hotel giant said the property would be upscale 535 guest-room hotel in the heart of DWC - the 145 sq km master planned urban development centered on Dubai's Al Maktoum International Airport. In May 2015, Hilton Worldwide and Doubletree by Hilton announced the opening of the Doubletree by Hilton Largo – Washington D.C. On June 1, 2015, DoubleTree by Hilton announced the opening of DoubleTree Suites by Hilton McAllen, a newly-renovated nine-story, 262-suite hotel in McAllen. In June 2015, Hilton Worldwide has acquired the 224-room Cypress Hotel located in California's Silicon Valley. Hilton said that the nine-story property, which has been renamed Juniper Hotel Cupertino, Curio Collection by Hilton joins Hilton Worldwide's global brand specifically for travelers who seek local discovery and 'unique, authentic experiences'. In June 2015, Hilton Worldwide and wasl hospitality and leisure has announced agreements to open a further two mid-market hotels in Dubai - Hampton by Hilton Dubai Al Mina and Hilton Garden Inn Bur Dubai. Hilton Garden Inn Bur Dubai will feature 292 guest rooms and be located in a prime area of Dubai Creek.
