Chemical Products: The company’s custom products are manufactured by continuous production, dedicated batch or general purpose batch mode depending on the volumes required. The company’s plant’s custom manufacturing product portfolio includes products that are used in the agricultural chemical, coatings, chemical intermediates, industrial and consumer cleaning, oil and gas, and specialty polymers industries. Performance chemicals comprise multi-customer products which are sold based upon specification and/or performance in the end-use application. This portfolio includes a family of polymer (nylon and polyester) modifiers and various small-volume specialty chemicals and solvents for diverse applications. Customers and Markets The company’s chemical products are used in various markets and end uses, including detergent, agrochemical, automotive, oil and gas, coatings, nutrition, and polymer additives. All sales of the bleach activator are made to The Procter & Gamble Company pursuant to a multi-year supply agreement which expires at the end of 2016 unless terminated earlier in accordance with the provisions of the agreement. Sales of a proprietary herbicide and certain other intermediates used in the production of this herbicide were made to Arysta LifeScience North America Corporation. Biofuels This segment primarily produces and sells biodiesel to its customers. The company sells petrodiesel in blends with its biodiesel and with no biodiesel added. This segment also includes the operation of a granary in central Arkansas. The company is also a shipper of refined petroleum products on a common carrier pipeline, and buys and sells petroleum products to maintain its active shipper status on this pipeline. Biodiesel is a renewable energy product consisting of mono-alkyl esters of fatty acids. Biodiesel is used primarily as a blend with petrodiesel. Customers and Markets The company markets its biodiesel products by truck, rail, and barge directly to customers in the United States. Research and Development Research and development expense incurred by the company for the year ended December 31, 2014, were $3,168,000. History The company, a Delaware corporation, was incorporated in 2005. It was formerly known as Viceroy Acquisition Corporation and changed its name to FutureFuel Corp. in 2006.
