Systems Integration provides advice and assistance for a company’s entire ‘plan-build-run’ lifecycle. Its primary focus is on solution design and architecture, IT projects and solution and application development, including testing and application lifecycle services. Systems Integration focuses on the introduction of uniform processes, general standards, methods and tools and enhancing the re-usability of modular solutions. In addition, Systems Integration supports T-Systems international activities through its delivery network, which provides sales and services to international customers by offering them tailored solutions and service components. Competition T-Systems faces competition from IBM Global Services; Accenture; CapGemini; HP Services; BT Global Services; France Telecom; and Telefonica. Significant Events In September 2011,Deutsche Telekom AG has signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. In November 2012, Itron, Inc. and Deutsche Telekom AG announced that they have signed an agreement to collaborate on delivering smart metering solutions to target markets in Europe. In February 2013, Deutsche Telekom AG and International Business Machines Corporation announced a collaboration to provide an integrated solutions portfolio that enables cities to make smarter use of their services through intelligent data capture and analysis. In February 2013, Deutsche Telekom and Wavefront announced a long-term agreement to collaborate in developing the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) market in North America. As part of the collaboration, Wavefront supports Canadian wireless start-ups and small and medium companies with its accelerator program providing access to services including educational seminars, testing resources, advisory services and global market connections, while Deutsche Telekom provides access to its extensive M2M resources and proactively engages with the wireless community. In September 2013, IBM and Deutsche Telekom announced a collaboration to provide the IBM MobileFirst platform in the cloud to small and medium sized (SMB) customers in Europe. In December 2013, Deutsche Telekom and Twitter have entered into a strategic partnership.
