This new application completed beta testing and was made generally available to its customers in the fourth quarter of 2014. The emergency department application is specifically designed for the care environment and workflow of a hospital emergency department. The application would provide comprehensive and customizable patient tracking boards; real time displays of patient locations, statuses and order/results alerts; computerized physician order entry specific to emergency care and workflow; evaluation and management coding specific to emergency department patients; and department-contained order routing and resulting. In some circumstances, the company offers Cloud EHR (Electronic Health Record) services to customers through remote access telecommunications. The company also completed development of its Medical Practice EHR5 suite in 2014. With this update, the clinician-focused components of the company’s EHR system provide both a unified user experience and a consolidated portfolio of functional capabilities across the continuum of care. Development efforts in 2015 include the release of an iPad app, Clinical Content, and Data Analytics with a focus on Population Health. The iPad app would provide users with access to the company’s EHR system from Apple iOS devices. The initial focus is on providers, with the first function delivered through the app being access to its mobile rounding suite. This suite would provide physicians with access to patient charts allowing for the review of patient information, vitals, medication lists, test results, problems and history. Additionally, it would allow the providers to pend orders and set reminders for later tasks to be performed from a PC. The iPad app with the mobile rounding suite is scheduled to be made generally available to all of the company’s customers in the third quarter of 2015. Clinical Content would work in conjunction with its existing Emergency Department suite, Multi-Disciplinary Documentation application and Medical Practice EHR5 suite. This content would provide structured specialty-specific patient care documentation using its managed entry methodology and content. The company’s new Content Services Department would oversee the creation and maintenance of this, ensuring the product reflects on-going best practices.
