Loan Portfolio As of December 31, 2014, the company’s loan portfolio included commercial and agricultural loans; real estate-construction loans; real estate-mortgage loans, such as 1-4 family residential loans and commercial loans; and consumer loans. Investment Portfolio As of December 31, 2014, the company’s investment portfolio included obligations of U.S. government sponsored agencies; residential mortgage-backed securities-GSE; residential mortgage-backed securities-private; commercial mortgage-backed securities-GSE; commercial mortgage-backed securities-private; and corporate notes. Deposits As of December 31, 2014, the company’s deposits included interest-bearing deposits, such as demand deposits, savings deposits, and money market deposits; time deposits; and noninterest-bearing demand deposits. Regulation and Supervision The company is a bank holding company, subject to regulation under the Bank Holding Company Act and the examination and reporting requirements of the Federal Reserve Board. As a national banking association, the deposits of which are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the bank is subject to regulation and examination primarily by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The bank is also regulated by the FDIC and the Federal Reserve Board. In connection with its lending activities, the bank is subject to various federal laws designed to protect borrowers and promote lending to various sectors of the economy and population. These include, among other laws, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth in Savings Act, and the Community Reinvestment Act. Administration of majority of these consumer protection rules are the responsibility of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The company is subject to the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act, its implementing regulations and other anti-money laundering laws and regulations, including the USA Patriot Act of 2001.
