The company collaborates with producers, major brands and other content owners to market, source, curate and distribute quality content to targeted audiences through existing and emerging digital home entertainment platforms, including but not limited to, iTunes, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Xbox, PlayStation, and cable video-on-demand (VOD); and physical goods, including DVD and Blu-ray Discs. In addition, the company operates an improving number of branded and curated over-the-top (OTT) entertainment channels, including Docurama, CONtv and Dove Entertainment Channel. Segments The company operates through four primary segments: First Digital Cinema Deployment (Phase I Deployment); Second Digital Cinema Deployment (Phase II Deployment); Digital Cinema Services (Services); and Media Content and Entertainment Group (Content & Entertainment). Content & Entertainment This segment engages in the ancillary market aggregation and distribution of entertainment content; and branded and curated OTT digital network business providing entertainment channels and applications. This segment includes Cinedigm Entertainment Group (CEG), an independent content distributor in the United States, as well as an innovator and leader in the evolving OTT digital network business. The company has direct relationships with various physical retail locations and digital platforms, including Walmart, Target, iTunes, Netflix, and Amazon, as well as the national VOD platforms. The company’s library of films and television episodes encompass documentaries from Docurama Films, next-gen Indies from Flatiron Film Company, acclaimed independent films and festival picks through partnerships with the Sundance Institute and Tribeca Films, and a range of content from brand name suppliers, including Discovery, Scholastic, NFL, Shout! Factory, Hallmark and Jim Henson. Additionally, the company is leveraging its infrastructure, technology, content and distribution expertise to build and expand its OTT digital network business. The company’s first channel, Docurama, launched in 2014 as an advertising-supported VOD service (AVOD) across various Internet connected devices and contains various documentary films for download. In March 2015, Wizard World, Inc. and the company launched CONtv, a targeted lifestyle channel and ‘Freemium’ service with both AVOD and subscription video on demand offerings (SVOD). The company’s Freemium business model provides users with free content and the ability to upgrade to a selection of premium services by paying subscription fees. CONtv is a major Freemium OTT channel available in terms of hours of content, with thousands of hours of content, including original programs and behind the scenes footage direct from Wizard World Comic Con gatherings. Docurama and CONtv are available across various major platforms, including Apple iOS, Google Android, Roku players and TV, Samsung SmartHub devices and the company expects various devices to come to market. In the fall of 2015, the company expects to introduce its third OTT channel, Dove Entertainment Channel, which would be a freemium service targeted to families and kids seeking family friendly content approved by the Dove Foundation. The company owns the businesses of two home entertainment content providers and distributors that made its CEG segment a major independent content distributor in the United States.
