Cellcom Israel Ltd. provides cellular communications services in Israel. The company offers a range of cellular services through its cellular networks covering all of the populated territory of Israel. These services include basic and advanced cellular telephone services, text and multimedia messaging services and advanced cellular content and data services. The company also offered international roaming services in 179 countries as of December 31, 2013. The company offers its subscribers a selection of handsets from various major global manufacturers, as well as extended warranty and repair services on various handsets that it offers. It also offers landline transmission and data services to business customers and telecommunications operators. In addition, the company offers landline telephony services. Following the completion of the acquisition of Netvision Ltd. (Netvision), the company expanded the range of its telecommunications services and offer, through Netvision, ISP services to private and business customers and additional telephony services, such as international calling services, landline telephony services to the business and private sectors and teleconferencing services. The company also provides through Netvision additional services, such as cloud services and data protection products solutions based on products and services offered by third party vendors. The company sells its various cellular services on a stand-alone basis or bundled with certain other services offered by Netvision and the company. Cellular Services and Products As of December 31, 2013, the company provided cellular communications services to approximately 3.092 million subscribers, including basic cellular telephony services, text and multimedia messaging, data and other value-added services, as well as handset sales. The company offers its cellular subscribers various usage and segment pricing plans and bundles combining cellular services with other communications services its group offers, such as ISP, landline and ILD services for home and IP switchboard, ISP, landline and ILD services for the office. The company offers two methods of payment, such as pre-paid and post-paid. Pre-paid services are offered to subscribers who pay for its services prior to obtaining them, usually by purchasing its ‘Talkman’ pre-paid cards or ‘virtual’ Talkman cards. Post-paid services are offered to subscribers who are willing to pay for its services through banking and credit arrangements, such as credit cards and direct debits. Basic Cellular Telephony Services The company’s principal cellular service is basic cellular telephony. In addition, it offers various other services with improvements and additional features to its basic cellular telephony service, including voice mail, cellular fax, call waiting, call forwarding, caller identification, and conference calling. The company also offers both an outbound roaming service to its subscribers when traveling outside of Israel and an inbound roaming service to visitors to Israel who could ‘roam’ into the company’s network. As of December 31, 2013, it had commercial roaming relationships with 564 operators in 179 countries based on the standard agreements of the GSM organization (an umbrella organization in which all the cellular operators operating with GSM technology are members). In addition, the company had 3G roaming arrangements with 327 of these operators, in 113 countries, enabling its 3G roamers to use data services abroad. Value-added and Data Services In addition to basic cellular telephony services, the company offers various value-added services, such as SMS and MMS, and data services. Some of the value-added services that the company offers are available only to subscribers who have supporting handset models and some are offered only to business subscribers. Data services could be used with handsets (in supporting models), cellular modems, laptops and tablets. The company provides its customers with various ‘Internet surfing packages’ for that purpose.
