In December 2010, BASF SE and Petroliam Nasional Bhd. have established a joint venture company in Malaysia to manufacture specialty chemical products. As per the agreement, both companies would undertake economic, technical, and commercial feasibility studies to construct production facilities. In December 2010, China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. and BASF SE signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly invest to expand their petrochemical complex in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.
