Products and Services The company’s range of products and services includes charge and credit card products; network services; merchant acquisition and processing, servicing and settlement, merchant financing, and point-of-sale, marketing and information products and services for merchants; fee services, including fraud prevention services and the design and operation of customer loyalty and rewards programs; expense management products and services; travel-related services; and stored value/prepaid products. The company’s various products and services are sold worldwide to various customer groups, including consumers, small businesses, mid-sized companies and large corporations. These products and services are sold through various channels, including direct mail, online applications, in-house and third-party sales forces and direct response advertising. Business travel-related services are offered through the company’s non-consolidated joint venture, American Express Global Business Travel (the ‘GBT JV’). Segments The company operates through four segments: U.S. Card Services (USCS); International Card Services (ICS); Global Commercial Services (GCS); and Global Network & Merchant Services (GNMS). USCS segment This segment offers a range of card products and services to consumers and small businesses in the United States. The company’s consumer travel business, which provides travel services to Card Members and other consumers, complements its core card business. Charge Cards The company’s charge cards, which generally carry no preset spending limits, are designed as a method of payment. Charge cards do offer various ways for eligible Card Members to pay off purchases over time. Select & Pay Later allows enrolled Card Members to select individual charges to pay over time and the Extended Payment Option provides eligible Card Members with the ability to extend payment for eligible charges above a certain dollar amount. Revolving Credit Cards The company offers various revolving credit cards that have a range of different payment terms, interest rate and fee structures. Revolving credit card products provide Card Members with the flexibility to pay their bill in full each month or carry a monthly balance on their cards to finance the purchase of goods or services.
