Buyer-Initiated Payments (BIP): An electronic solution for companies looking to automate their accounts payable processes. This segment, through the GBT JV, also offers various business travel-related services to its corporate clients, including full-service online and offline travel booking and reservation services and support; travel program management services; consulting services; and meetings and events management services. The GBT JV operates under the ‘American Express Global Business Travel’ brand, pursuant to a trademark license agreement provided by the company. The company also has a transition services agreement and certain other operating agreements with the GBT JV, pursuant to which the company and the GBT JV provide one another with certain services and that result in related-party receivables and payables. Global Corporate Payments Global Corporate Payments offers a range of payments and expense management solutions to companies worldwide through the company’s Corporate Card Programs and B2B Payment Solutions. During 2014, the company added or retained major Global Corporate Payments clients in the United States and internationally, including E.ON, Facebook, General Electric, Halliburton, and Schneider Electric. Corporate Card Programs The American Express Corporate Card is a charge card that individuals might obtain through a corporate account established by their employer for business purposes. Through the company’s Corporate Card Program, companies could manage their travel, entertainment, and everyday business expenses that could result in negotiations with suppliers, among other benefits. The company uses its direct relationships with merchants to offer Corporate Card clients improved data about company spending, as well as streamlined dispute resolution. The company issues local currency Corporate Cards in approximately 65 countries and territories, and has global U.S. dollar and Euro Corporate Cards available in approximately 100 countries and territories. The company also offers Corporate Cards issued through its GNS partner relationships in an additional 35 countries and territories. The company also partners with various other companies worldwide to offer various cobrand Corporate Cards in various countries. As of December 31, 2014, the company had 12 Corporate Card cobrand partnerships issued in 12 countries and territories. These products, suited for mid-sized companies, provide a range of rewards and benefits. Global Corporate Payments is focused on continuing to expand its business with mid-sized companies. Global Corporate Payments offers the Savings@Work Program to mid-sized companies in the United States, as well as similar programs worldwide, which provide companies with cash back and/or discounted pricing on everyday business products and services, such as car rentals, hotels, restaurants, and courier services. Corporate Card Members could also take advantage of the company’s Membership Rewards program to earn points that could be redeemed for air travel and hotel stays, as well as retail, home, and recreation items. In select regions, the company also offers Corporate Membership Rewards that allows a company to earn points to redeem for enterprise-level rewards.
