alizing in the placement of life science professionals. Competition: Lab Support’s competitors include Manpower Group, Inc.; Kelly Services, Inc.; Adecco S.A.; Yoh Company; and the Allegis Group. Oxford This segment includes the operations of Oxford Global Resources, LLC (Oxford) and CyberCoders, Inc. (CyberCoders). Oxford specializes in recruiting and delivering experienced IT, engineering, and life sciences consultants to clients for temporary assignments. Oxford combines international reach with local depth, serving clients through a network of recruiting centers across North America and Europe and local branch offices in major metropolitan markets in the United States. Oxford serves clients through two operating formats. The first consists of 11 recruiting centers in the U.S. and 2 in Europe where sales consultants recruit skilled IT and engineering professionals to fulfill client needs for temporary consultants across North America and Europe. The right candidates for these assignments reside in locations remote from the client work-site and would travel away from their homes to perform the assignments. The second consists of 19 branch offices across the United States where technology professionals local to their metropolitan market are recruited to fulfill needs for clients in those cities. Oxford provides services to clients in a range of industries. Clients range from large companies that might be installing new enterprise-wide computer systems and have a need for a subject matter expert with a specific technical and industry-specific experience, to small and mid-sized companies, such as a medical device manufacturer who needs a specialized hardware engineer. Competition: The company’s major competitors include Accenture, Inc.; International Business Machines Corporation; and Robert Half International Inc. CyberCoders specializes in recruiting professionals for permanent placements in engineering, technology, sales, executive, financial, accounting, scientific, legal, and operations positions across a range of industries. CyberCoders’ proprietary software and matching algorithm combine to deliver an impressive turnaround time for employers and helps candidates find jobs that truly fit their background and career goals. Life Sciences Europe This segment includes the company’s Lab Support and Valesta Clinical Research staffing businesses, which operate from 10 local branch offices in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain. This segment provides locally-based contract and permanent life science professionals to clients in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, personal care, chemical, medical device, automotive, municipal, education, and environmental industries. Contract professionals recruited for these clients range from technicians with limited chemistry or biology backgrounds and lab experience to individuals with bachelor’s and/or master’s degrees and considerable experience. Clients During the year ended December 31, 2014, the company provided contract professionals to approximately 7,680 clients. Dispositions In February 2015, the company sold its Physician segment, a provider of physician staffing, known as locum tenens. Strategy The company’s growth strategy includes further disciplined acquisitions. Seasonality Demand for the company’s staffing services historically has been lower during the first and fourth quarters (year ending December 2014) due to fewer business days resulting from client shutdowns, adverse weather conditions, and a decline in the number of contract professionals willing to work during the holidays. As is common in the staffing industry, the company runs special incentive programs to keep its contract professionals working through the holidays. Demand for the company’s staffing services increases in the second and third quarters of the year. In addition, the company’s cost of services increases in the first quarter primarily due to the reset of payroll taxes. History On Assignment, Inc. was founded in 1985. The company was incorporated in 1985.
