This segment consists of the company’s portfolio of content brands, as well as certain service brands with a focus on news, local, women/lifestyle, and technology. Through the company’s network of sites, it intends to reach a global audience on various platforms and devices. Additionally, it offers advertisers and agencies online tools to deliver advertising and reach targeted audiences across Brand Group properties. The Brand Group, which consists of its portfolio of distinct and unique content brands, as well as certain service brands. The results for this segment include the performance of its advertising offerings on a number of owned and operated sites, such as, The Huffington Post, TechCrunch and MapQuest. The Brand Group also includes co-branded Websites owned or operated by third parties for which certain criteria have been met, including that the Internet traffic has been assigned to the company. This segment’s offerings include original content produced by professional journalists from new and traditional media, politicians, celebrities, academics, policy experts, freelance writers and bloggers, its curated content and curated and aggregated content from third parties and user-generated content. The company’s content offerings are made available to audiences through sites, such as and The Huffington Post, and related applications, as well as to specialized audiences on highly-targeted, branded properties, such as Engadget, StyleList and TechCrunch. Additionally, the company has entered into joint ventures and strategic partnerships with third parties with established brands in an effort to expand its content offerings. This segment offers various brands, such as: curates and aggregates compelling and engaging content and provides access to major services, such as AOL Search and AOL Mail. The company seeks to develop and refine its home page by offering enhanced features and functionality and user interface improvements. The Huffington Post: An influential news, opinion, and lifestyle Website with moderated user comments, which includes various sections that offer news and perspectives on different subject areas, such as multicultural issues, healthy living, and politics. The company has expanded The Huffington Post internationally and it is in 10 countries, through partnerships with established local media companies. Additionally, HP Live! is a live online streaming video network which utilizes The Huffington Post’s community and social platform and invites real-time viewer engagement and interaction by smartphone, tablet or Webcams. MapQuest: It is an online mapping and directions service. The company intends to supplement its MapQuest offerings beyond navigation through the launch of original travel content and enhanced trip planning features. MapQuest also licenses its business-to-business services to third party customers.
