Wincanton's Records Management Business Wins Three-Year Contract with Francis Crick Institute

Wincanton announced that its records management business (WRM) has been awarded a three-year contract with research organisation, the Francis Crick Institute The contract will see WRM provide an innovative logistics solution to the Francis Crick Institute, whereby WRM will act as a central site that manages the distribution of all in-bound deliveries to the organisation's central London facility. This approach will streamline the institute's supply chain to deliver substantial cost savings and operational efficiencies. As part of the agreement, WRM will provide a bespoke support team, as well as a dedicated IT system through its WinQuest technology to monitor and manage internal work flow, and track deliveries.

Wincanton plc Announces Management Changes, Effective from August 1, 2015

Wincanton plc announced that Eric Born, Chief Executive, has formally notified the Board of his decision to step down in order to take up the position of CEO for a global business outside of the sector. Eric will remain with the group until July 31, 2015. The Board announced that Adrian Colman, currently Group Finance Director, will be appointed as Chief Executive, effective August 1, 2015. Adrian Colman joined Wincanton as Group Finance Director in January 2013. He was previously Group Financial Director of Psion plc and prior to that was Group Finance Director at London City Airport. The Board will now commence a process to appoint a successor as Group Finance Director.

Magnet Renews its National Home Delivery and Transport Contract with Wincanton plc in a Long Term Deal

Wincanton plc announced that Magnet, has renewed its national home delivery and transport contract with Wincanton in a long term deal. The renewal sees the continuation of Wincanton's two-man home delivery and transportation service from Magnet's North East manufacturing plant in Darlington to Magnet's UK wide customers via strategic distribution sites, handling almost 40,000 deliveries of kitchen furniture, appliances and internal joinery products a year. To ensure Wincanton remains at the forefront of innovation and service, bespoke double deck trailers will be introduced to the contract, which will consolidate the transportation of kitchen and joinery products for Magnet. This introduction, combined with continued investment in Wincanton's home delivery systems, will create a "step change" in customer satisfaction and performance of the service.
