Magnet Renews its National Home Delivery and Transport Contract with Wincanton plc in a Long Term Deal

Wincanton plc announced that Magnet, has renewed its national home delivery and transport contract with Wincanton in a long term deal. The renewal sees the continuation of Wincanton's two-man home delivery and transportation service from Magnet's North East manufacturing plant in Darlington to Magnet's UK wide customers via strategic distribution sites, handling almost 40,000 deliveries of kitchen furniture, appliances and internal joinery products a year. To ensure Wincanton remains at the forefront of innovation and service, bespoke double deck trailers will be introduced to the contract, which will consolidate the transportation of kitchen and joinery products for Magnet. This introduction, combined with continued investment in Wincanton's home delivery systems, will create a "step change" in customer satisfaction and performance of the service.

Wincanton plc Appoints Paul Dean as Independent Non-Executive Director, Effective from February 1, 2015

Wincanton plc announced the appointment of Mr. Paul Dean as an Independent Non-Executive director of the company effective from February 1, 2015. Mr. Dean will also be appointed as a member of the company's Audit, Nomination and Remuneration committees. It is envisaged that Mr. Dean will chair the Audit Committee in due course. Mr. Dean is currently a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chairman of Polypipe Group plc, Focusrite Plc and Porvair Plc.

Wincanton plc Receives Contract with Bae Systems to Provide Full Logistics and Warehousing Services

Wincanton plc has been awarded a new contract with major defence manufacturer BAE Systems, to provide full logistics and warehousing services in support of its UK shipbuilding operations. This includes its programme to deliver three new River Class Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Navy. The long-term agreement, which starts with the outsourcing of all logistics and warehousing at BAE Systems' sites in Glasgow, will see Wincanton operating a central warehousing facility, inbound scheduling and collections and provision of modular re-useable crates. These activities will also be supported by Wincanton's nearby facility in Motherwell, currently supporting the build of the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers.
