It offers managed services and cloud computing services to businesses, as well as broadband, voice, and video services to consumers primarily in rural markets. The company’s primary business service offerings include integrated voice and data services, multi-site networking, data center services, managed services, high-speed Internet, and voice services. The company also sells and leases communications equipment systems tailored to customers’ needs, as well as offers maintenance plans to support these systems. In addition, it provides consumer broadband services consisting of high-speed Internet access, Internet security services, and online backup services; and consumer voice services consisting of basic local telephone services, long-distance services, and features, including call waiting, caller identification, call forwarding, and others. Further, the company offers consumer video services; owns and operates cable television franchises; and provides switched access services to long-distance companies and other local exchange carriers for access to network. Additionally, it sells equipment to support high-speed Internet and voice offerings, including broadband modems, home networking gateways, and personal computers, as well as home phones to support voice services; and provides carrier services. As of December 31, 2014, the company operated a network of approximately 121,000 miles of fiber optic plant in fiber backbone and local service areas, as well as 27 data centers. Windstream Holdings, Inc. is based in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Windstream Holdings announced during the remainder of 2015, it plans to expand 100G service to seven additional markets, including Minneapolis and Louisville in September, and the addition of 5,600 route miles to the Long-Haul Core Network providing additional diverse routing options from major cities. By end of year, Windstream Carrier Solutions plans to be able to provide carrier customers the wave services from 1G to 100G spanning across 121,000 miles of fiber; 100G service in 44 markets; and standardized 10G pricing throughout its expansive regional and metro fiber networks in 33 states, available via Windstream's Carrier Portal.

Windstream s Fixed Wireless is a technology solution for carrier-grade Ethernet and Internet-over-Ethernet connectivity delivered by digital microwave technology, and is currently offered in Chicago, Ill., New York, N.Y., Northern New Jersey, N.J., Milwaukee, Wis., and Boston, Mass. Windstream s Fixed Wireless is perfect for any business in need of diverse, high-bandwidth, enterprise-class Ethernet and networking solutions, supported by industry-certified dedicated account teams and engineers. Windstream s Fixed Wireless supports Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) or Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks with Quality of Service (QoS) and delivers scalable bandwidth for speeds up to 1Gps, as well as terrestrial diversity. Windstream Reportedly Hires RBC For Data Storage Unit Sale

Windstream Holdings, Inc. (NasdaqGS:WIN) has hired Royal Bank of Canada to advise on the sale of its data storage business and is aiming to raise $500 million to $750 million, according to people familiar with the matter. Potential bidders for the unit of the Little Rock, Arkansas-based telecommunications firm include ABRY Partners, LLC and GI Partners, LLC said one of the people, who asked not to be identified because the matter is private. Windstream purchased the hosted-solutions business from ABRY in 2010 for $310 million. A representative for RBC, Canada’s largest bank, declined to comment. Representatives from Windstream, ABRY and GI weren’t immediately available for comment.
