weng fine art ag (WFT) Key Developments

Weng Fine Art AG Reports Revenue Results for the First Half of 2015

Weng Fine Art AG reported revenue results for the first half of 2015. For the period, the company's turnover is more than 30% higher than the revenues of the same period last year.

Weng Fine Art AG Revises Sales Forecast for the Fiscal Year 2015

Weng Fine Art AG revised sales forecast for the fiscal year 2015. In the first half of the fiscal year 2014/15 there was a significant decrease in sales and earnings as a result of a transformation process, that is expected to last until the end of 2015, and the downward trend was expected to continue throughout the remaining fiscal year. Now the company expects a double-digit percentage increase in sales in the second half compared to the first half of this year. The sales for the full year, however, will still be lower than in the previous year. The overall positive trend is in line with the increasing share of high-value transactions within the trading business. The group earnings for the current fiscal year cannot yet be predicted, as there still are additional factors to be taken into account. However, it is already clear that the trade margins have remained level over the year, and that the strength of the US dollar against the euro has a positive effect on the profits of WFA AG.

Weng Fine Art AG Sets Up Company for Services and Opens Up New Segment

Weng Fine Art AG is expanding, as announced, in the services business around high-end art. These activities will be bundled into the subsidiary WFA Fine Art Services GmbH, which will be registered with a share capital of 500.000 CHF in Zug/Zurich, which is particularly suitable for international business. In parallel, an office for this company will be established in Krefeld to serve customers in Germany. Through this Services Company, WFA develops - without a large capital outlay and without significant start-up costs - an additional platform to expand its service offering in the arts. The focus will be on the active management of private and commercial collections, and specifically towards the needs of financial institutions, insolvency administrators and inheritance advisors. WFA is thereby entering a new attractive segment of the art market.
