Verizon Communications Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides communications, information, and entertainment products and services to consumers, businesses, and governmental agencies worldwide. The company’s Wireless segment offers wireless voice and data services; messaging services; service that enables its customers to access the Internet on smartphones, basic phones, notebook computers, and tablets; customers and business-focused multimedia offerings; location-based services; global data services; LTE Internet, a high-speed Internet service; and network access and value added services to support telemetry-type applications. It also offers machine-to-machine services that support devices used in health monitoring, education, manufacturing, utilities, distribution, and consumer products markets, as well as offers smartphones and basic phones, tablets, and other Internet access devices. As of December 31, 2014, it had 108.2 million retail connections. Its Wireline segment provides high-speed Internet, FiOS Internet, and FiOS Video services; voice services, such as local exchange, regional and long distance calling, and voice messaging services, as well as VOIP services; private Internet protocol and Ethernet access and optical services; and Internet protocol, infrastructure and cloud services, machine-to-machine services, security, and other communications services. It also offers voice and data services, such as conferencing and contact center solutions, and private line and data access networks, as well as customer premise equipment, installation, maintenance, and site services; and data, voice, local dial tone, and broadband services primarily to local, long distance, and other carriers. The company was formerly known as Bell Atlantic Corporation and changed its name to Verizon Communications Inc. in June 2000. Verizon Communications Inc. was founded in 1983 and is based in New York, New York.

Verizon to Provide Platform for Skype for Business

Verizon announced that its Private IP networking solution will be a part of Microsoft's new Skype for Business platform. The service will be a part of Microsoft's Azure ExpressRoute Service, which connects to Verizon's Private IP service through the Secure Cloud Interconnect platform. Microsoft and Verizon clients can sign up to be a part of the Skype for Business Cloud Voice Preview, available in the U.S. this summer, or connect with Verizon as a Microsoft provider to plan deployment of Skype for Business.

Verizon Announces Next-Gen and Global Expansion of Cloud Unified Communications & Collaboration

Verizon is expanding its Unified Communications & Collaboration as a Service (UCCaaS) solution and introducing new innovative capabilities, including Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms. Verizon is making this announcement from Enterprise Connect 2015, where the company is demonstrating its portfolio of Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) solutions. The new capabilities include: Global expansion of UCCaaS to Europe and Asia Pacificincluding in-country support for major commercial hubs such as Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Germany, France and the Netherlands. Verizon provides in-region geographic redundancy of its UCCaaS services via its data centers in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Singapore and Hong Kong. Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms Cloud provides simple, easy-to-use collaboration capabilities for intra-business, B2B and B2C applications from any standards-based video device. The new offering, which allows attendees to collaborate using voice, video, content share, white boarding and more, is expected to be commercially available in July and will integrate with Verizon UCCaaS or can be purchased as a stand-alone service. Integrated global contact centers, expected to be available in the second half of 2015, deliver cloud-based contact center capabilities for improving the customer experience and can be integrated with UCCaaS. Cloud-based contact centers allow enterprises to serve their customers in a more powerful, flexible and cost-effective manner, with the ability to easily scale resources up or down based on business needs. Mobile integration will allow customers to leverage Verizon UCCaaS over wireless networks with no VPN connections required. U.S. customers can leverage Verizon's expansive 4G LTE networks, while global customers can use their local mobile broadband network. Self-service management portals allow customers to quickly and easily implement provisioning changes to their service, including service moves, ads and changes, helping control management costs, increase business agility and improve customer responsiveness.

Verizon Communications Inc. Announces Expiration and Final Results of Exchange Offers

Verizon Communications Inc. announced the expiration and final results of its previously announced seven separate private offers to exchange specified series of debt securities issued by Verizon and by GTE Corporation for new debt securities to be issued by Verizon and, in the case of the 6.94% debentures due 2028 of GTE Corporation, cash, each in accordance with the terms of the Exchange Offers. The Exchange Offers consist of the following: an offer to exchange the 5.15% notes due 2023 of Verizon for new 4.272% notes due 2036 of Verizon, provided that the principal amount of New Notes due 2036 to be issued in such Exchange Offer on an aggregate basis shall not exceed $3,000,000,000; an offer to exchange the 6.90% notes due 2038 of Verizon; an offer to exchange the 6.40% notes due 2038 of Verizon; an offer to exchange the 6.40% notes due 2033 of Verizon; an offer to exchange the 6.25% notes due 2037 of Verizon; and an offer to exchange the GTE Debentures; in each case, for new 4.522% notes due 2048 of Verizon and, in the case of the GTE Debentures, cash, provided that the principal amount of New Notes due 2048 to be issued in such Exchange Offers on an aggregate basis shall not exceed $5,000,000,000 and an offer to exchange the 6.55% notes due 2043 of Verizon for new 4.672% notes due 2055 of Verizon, provided that the principal amount of New Notes due 2055 to be issued in such Exchange Offer on an aggregate basis shall not exceed $5,500,000,000.
