Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and sells automobiles primarily in Europe, North America, South America, and the Asia-Pacific. The company operates through four segments: Passenger Cars, Commercial Vehicles, Power Engineering, and Financial Services. The Passenger Cars segment develops vehicles and engines; and produces and sells passenger cars and genuine parts. The Commercial Vehicles segment develops, produces, and sells light commercial vehicles, and trucks and buses, as well as offers parts and related services. The Power Engineering segment develops and produces large-bore diesel engines, turbo compressors, industrial turbines, and chemical reactor systems, as well as produces gear units, propulsion components, and testing systems. The Financial Services segment offers dealer and customer financing, leasing, banking and insurance, fleet management, and mobility services. It also offers motorcycles. Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft provides its products under the Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, ŠKODA, SEAT, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ducati, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Scania, and MAN brand names, as well as financial services under the Volkswagen Financial Services brand name. The company has a co-operation with Daimler AG to produce Crafter delivery van. Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft is based in Wolfsburg, Germany.

Volkswagen group Announces Executive Changes

Volkswagen group announced that two younger members of the dynasty are joining its board to replace Ferdinand, who abruptly resigned as chairman. Louise Kiesling, and Julia Kuhn-Piech are to take over from Ferdinand and his wife, Ursula Piech, both of whom announced that they were stepping down from the supervisory board.

Volkswagen AG Announces Earnings and Production Results for the First Quarter Ended March 2015; Reaffirms Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015

Volkswagen AG announced earnings and production results for the first quarter ended March 2015. For the quarter, the company reported profit after tax of EUR 2,932 million against EUR 2,468 million a year ago. Sales revenue was EUR 52,735 million against EUR 47,831 million a year ago, benefiting from higher sales volumes, a better model mix, and exchange rate changes. Operating profit was EUR 3,328 million against EUR 2,855 million a year ago. Profit before tax was EUR 3,968 million against EUR 3,357 million a year ago. Cash flows from operating activities were EUR 4,692 million against EUR 2,251 million a year ago. Net profit rose 19% in the first quarter as the auto market in Western Europe recovered. For the quarter, the company reported production of 2,721,000 units against 2,565,000 units a year ago. The company reaffirmed that it was on course to meet its goals for increased vehicles sales, sales revenue, and operating profit in 2015 over 2014. The company expects its profit margin would come in between 5.5% to 6.5%.

VW Says No M&A Plans Beyond Talks On Raising China JV Stake

"We are in a process of negotiations with our joint venture partner (FAW), also about the possibility of an increase in our stake. Apart from this, there is nothing else on the table with regard to M&A," said Hans Dieter Poetsch, Chief Financial Officer of Volkswagen AG (XTRA:VOW3).
