The company’s Environmental Services segment collects, processes, and disposes household, trade, and industrial waste. Its Energy Services segment develops a range of energy management activities, including heating and cooling networks, thermal and multi-technical services, industrial utilities, installation and maintenance of production equipment, and integration services for the comprehensive management of buildings and electrical services on public roadways. The company was formerly known as Vivendi Environnement and changed its name to Veolia Environnement SA in 2003. Veolia Environnement SA was founded in 1853 and is based in Paris, France.

Veolia Environnement S.A. Announces Group Earnings Results for the Year 2014; Provides Group Earnings Guidance for the Full Year 2015

Veolia Environnement VE SA announced group earnings results for the year 2014. For the year, the company swinging to a net profit of EUR 246 million (USD 279.6 million) from a net loss of EUR 153 million in 2013 due to a flourishing foreign business. Revenue increased 4.6% on the year to EUR 23.879 billion in 2014 triggered by a 37% surge in revenue from activities in Europe, excluding France, attributed to the consolidation of Dalkia International. Revenue in France dropped 1.3%. Adjusted operating profit grew 23% to EUR 1.108 billion due to accelerated cash flow generation. Operating profit from French activities went up 8%, while profit in Europe soared 45.5%. The group's net financial debt stood at EUR 8.311 billion at year-end, narrowed from EUR 8.444 billion at end-2013. Free cash flow before divestments and financial investments, it increased by about threefold up to EUR 330 million. The group expects to further boost revenue and operating profits for the full year 2015. The company is expecting, above all, and that's the main objective for 2015, a current net income of EUR 500 million and free cash flow before divestments and financial investments of EUR 500 million.

Veolia Environnement Mulls Acquisition

Veolia Environnement S.A. (ENXTPA:VIE) is seeking acquisitions. Antoine Frerot, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Veolia Environnement, said in Veolia Environnement earnings call, “We don't rule out, to support our commercial development, doing what we call enabling acquisitions. In other words, to acquire startup companies that provide a certain market access or access to technologies, to expertise which will supplement our know-how, which will help our organic growth. Not big acquisitions, but smaller [tuck-ins], which can help to improve our economic growth. Even if Sade will be very expensive if we add Israel and Sade, given the size of Veolia, well all of that is still nonetheless rather middling size compared to Veolia's overall size.”
