The Optoelectronic Components segment offers standard and customer specific optoelectronic components, such as infrared emitters and detectors, IR remote control receivers, optocouplers, solid-state relays, optical sensors, light-emitting diodes, 7-segment displays, and IR data transceiver modules. The Resistors & Inductors segment provides film, wirewound, power metal strip, variable, and non-linear resistors, as well as battery management shunts, thermo fuses, chip fuses, networks/arrays, pryotechnic initiators/ignitors, magnetics, and connectors. The Capacitors segment offers tantalum, ceramic, film, power, heavy-current, and aluminum capacitors. The company’s semiconductor components are used for various functions, including power control, power conversion, power management, signal switching, signal routing, signal blocking, signal amplification, two-way data transfer, one-way remote control, and circuit isolation; and passive components are used to restrict current flow, suppress voltage increases, store and discharge energy, control alternating current and voltage, filter out unwanted electrical signals, and perform other functions. Vishay Intertechnology Introduces a New Series of Neutral Ground Resistors for Industrial Power Systems

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has introduced a new series of neutral ground resistors for industrial power systems. Consisting of the company's GRE1 high-power, high-current grid resistors mounted in rugged, weatherproof IP23-rated enclosures with extremely high voltage insulation, Milwaukee Resistors (a product line of Vishay Dale Resistors) NGR series devices [2] combine high line-neutral and system voltages with high-temperature performance to +760 °C. Offering a convenient drop-in replacement for competing solutions, NGR series resistors are designed to provide ground fault, overvoltage, and short circuit protection for generators and transformers in wye (star) configurations without exceeding the temperature limitations outlined by IEEE-32. The devices offer line-neutral voltage from 1.39 kV to 8 kV, system voltage from 2.4 kV to 13.8 kV, and current ratings from 100 A to 1000 A. Resistance for the resistors ranges from 1.39 © to 80 © with tolerance of ± 10%. The RoHS-compliant resistors offer a tied live design to eliminate floating voltages in the assembly and lifting eyes for safe and easy installations. Featuring a stainless steel element, ceramic insulators, and multiple taps, the NGR series provides high reliability with a welded construction. Additionally, the devices open design allows for maximum cooling efficiency. The units are offered in modular or custom designs.

Vishay Intertechnology Unveils PATT Resistor in 0402 and 1206 Case Sizes

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has extended its PATT precision automotive thin film chip resistor family with devices in the 0402 and 1206 case sizes. The devices are available with gold plated terminals for conventional solder assembly and conductive glueable board mount technologies. Providing an 85°C extension in operating temperature range over most conventional chip resistors, the thin film PATT features high-temperature operation to +155°C with 100 % power dissipation, derated linearly to +250°C. The AEC-Q200-qualified device offers a low absolute TCR down to ± 25 ppm/°C and laser-trimmed tolerances down to ± 0.1 %. The part features an intrinsic moisture-protected resistor element built on tantalum nitride technology. With a load-life stability of < 0.2 % at +155 °C and full rated power dissipation for 1,000 hours, the Vishay Dale Thin Film resistor released is optimized for the low-noise analog signal processing required to compensate for low offset and temperature drift in high-temperature environments such as gain setting in ultra-low noise and precision analog digital processors and high gain audio amplifiers; under-the-hood automotive applications; high-precision oil and gas exploration; industrial in-line testers; metering; and telecommunications and industrial equipment.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. Introduces Three New Precision Monolithic Quad Single-Pole Single-Throw Analog Switches

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. introduced three new 200 precision monolithic quad single-pole single-throw (SPST) analog switches in the ultra-compact WCSP 4 bump by 4 bump array package. The smallest such devices in the industry, the Vishay Siliconix DG2501, DG2502, and DG2503 save space in wearable electronics and sensors and consumer and communication devices while offering high precision characterized by low parasitic capacitance, charge injection, and leakage current. Measuring 1.4 mm by 1.4 mm with a 0.35 mm pitch and top-side lamination for increased ruggedness, the switches released are 50% smaller than the closest competing device and 95% smaller than switches in the standard QFN16 package. Combining their compact size with typical power consumption of < 0.01 µW to prolong battery life, the DG2501, DG2502, and DG2503 are ideal for analog front-end signal switching, programmable gain control and sample and hold circuits, and multiple analog input multiplexing in smart watches, medical patches, fitness monitors, sensors, and other such products that make up the Internet of Things (IoT). The switches provide low CD(OFF) of 2.6 pF, CD(ON) of 7.6 pF, charge injection down to -0.7 pC, and typical switch-on leakage current of 9 pA. The DG2501, DG2502, and DG2503 offer high ESD tolerance > 8 kV (human body model) and latch up current > 800 mA per JESD78. Each switch conducts equally well in both directions when on and supports analog signals up to the supply voltage. The DG2501, DG2502, and DG2503 all feature four independently selectable SPST switches with closely matched channel resistance. The DG2501 is normally closed, while the DG2502 is normally open. The DG2503 has two normally open and two normally closed switches. All three devices feature guaranteed break-before-make operation for use in multiplexer applications. The switches operate from a single 1.8 V to 5.5 V power supply and offer logic thresholds of 1.4 V and 1.8 V at 3 V and 5 V inputs, respectively, to ensure low-voltage TTL/CMOS compatibility. The Vishay GREEN devices are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free. Samples and production quantities of the DG2501, DG2502, and DG2503 are available now, with lead times of 10 weeks for large orders.
