The Diodes segment provides rectifiers, small signal diodes, protection diodes, thyristors/silicon-controlled rectifiers, and power modules. The Optoelectronic Components segment offers standard and customer specific optoelectronic components, such as infrared (IR) emitters and detectors, IR remote control receivers, optocouplers, solid-state relays, optical sensors, light-emitting diodes, 7-segment displays, and IR data transceiver modules. The Resistors & Inductors segment provides film, wirewound, power metal strip, crowbar and steel blade, variable, and non-linear resistors, as well as battery management shunts, thermo fuses, chip fuses, pryotechnic initiators/ignitors, networks/arrays, magnetics, and connectors. The Capacitors segment offers tantalum, ceramic, film, power, heavy-current, and aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The company’s semiconductor components are used for power control, power conversion, power management, signal switching, signal routing, signal blocking, signal amplification, two-way data transfer, one-way remote control, and circuit isolation functions; and passive components are used to restrict current flow, suppress voltage increases, store and discharge energy, control alternating current and voltage, filter out unwanted electrical signals, and perform other functions. Vishay Intertechnology Inc. Expands IHLD Series of High-Current Dual Inductors with New Device in 3232 Case Size

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. expanded its IHLD series of low-profile, high-current dual inductors with a new device in the 3232 case size. Offering a high operating temperature range to +155 °C, the automotive-grade IHLD-3232HB-5A saves board space by combining two inductors in one 9.75 mm by 9.14 mm package. The Vishay Dale inductor is optimized for automotive and commercial class D amplifier circuits, where the device reduces board space requirements and offers improved performance over multiple individual inductors. In addition, the IHLD-3232HB-5A is designed for excellent inductance stability over temperature and DC current, providing high-quality sound and low harmonic distortion due to linear saturation performance. The inductor pair is designed with very low coupling for minimal crosstalk between inductors. Built on Vishay’s IHLP technology, the AEC-Q200-qualified inductor pair offers maximum DCR from 29.2 mO to 159.43 mO, inductance from 5 µH to 33 µH, and rated current to 6.0 A. Manufactured using a 100 % lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction package, the IHLD-3232HB-5A is specified for an operating temperature range of -55 °C to +155 °C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration. Samples and production quantities of the new dual inductor are available now, with lead times of 11 weeks for large orders.

Vishay Intertechnology Introduces New Family of Hybrid Solid-State Relays

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. introduced the first three devices in its new VOR family of hybrid solid-state relays designed to deliver high reliability and noiseless switching for telecommunications, industrial, security system, and metering applications. As replacements for traditional mechanical relays with lower reliability and shorter lifetimes, the new Vishay Semiconductors 1 Form A VOR1142A6, VOR1142B6, and VOR1142M4 provide high input-to-output isolation, current limit protection, and low power consumption. The relays released are normally open single-pole, single-throw (SPST) switches. Allowing for simple customization, the devices feature a modular construction consisting of a GaAIAs (gallium aluminum arsenide) IRED actuation control and MOSFETs for the switch output. The single-channel relays are offered in DIP-6 (VOR1142A6), SMD-6 (VOR1142B6), and SOP-4 (VOR1142M4) packages. Devices in the SMD-6 and DIP-6 packages offer a high isolation test voltage of 5,300 V/1 min, while devices in the smaller SOP-4 offer an isolation test voltage of 3,750 V/1 min. All relays offer low typical on-resistance of 22 ©, high load current of 140 mA, load voltage of 400 V, and very low turn-on current of 0.25 mA typical. The devices are VDE-and UL-certified to meet reinforced insulation requirements for most applications. Electronically isolated, the VOR1142A6, VOR1142B6, and VOR1142M4 offer clean, bounce-free switching over an ambient temperature range of -40 °C to +100 °C. Typical applications will include line, load, ground, signal, and alarm switches; I/O cards; ground isolation; electro-mechanical noise isolation; automation; automatic test equipment; and motor drives. Available in tape-and-reel and tube packing, the devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green. Samples and production quantities of the new 1 Form A solid-state relays are available now, with lead times of eight to 10 weeks for large orders.

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. Releases New Series of Thick Film Chip Resistors

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. released a new series of thick film chip resistors that provides pulse-proof performance and advanced sulfur resistance for automotive, industrial, and medical applications. The Vishay Draloric RCA-IF e3 series devices feature excellent anti-surge and pulse characteristics, and for high-sulfur environments offer a sulfur withstand ability in accordance to ASTM B809-95, tested at 90 °C for 1,000 hours. The resistors are optimized for applications such as input circuits or MOSFET gate resistors susceptible to pulse loads while operating in a polluted atmosphere. The company announced RCA-IF e3 devices are available in seven case sizes ranging from 0402 to 2512 with power ratings from 0.063 W to 1.0 W. The resistors offer a resistance range from 1 O to 100 kO with tolerances of ± 5 % and ± 10 %, a TCR of ± 200 ppm/K, and a limiting element voltage range of 50 V to 500 V. The lead (Pb)-free devices feature pure tin plating and are compliant to RoHS directive 2011/65/EU and halogen-free according to the JEDEC JS709A definition. The company announced AEC-Q200-qualified version, the RCA-IF AT e3 and samples of the RCA-IF e3 and RCA-IF AT e3 are available. The company announced production quantities are available with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders.
