VSE Corp. Announces Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year Ended December 31, 2014

VSE Corp. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenues of $94,951,000 compared with $122,350,000 for the same period a year ago. Operating income was $7,687,000 compared with $12,000,000 for the same period a year ago. Income from continuing operations was $4,389,000 or $0.82 per diluted share compared with $6,429,000 or $1.20 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. Net income was $4,163,000 or $0.78 per diluted share compared with $5,406,000 or $1.01 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. The increase in revenue resulted primarily from an increase in WBI’s USPS Managed Inventory Program (MIP) revenues and from additional revenues associated with other projects performed for the USPS, including an award to deliver 10,000 engineered shelving kits for use in the USPS Long Life Vehicles (LLVs), as well as revenues from new commercial customers. For the year, the company reported revenues of $424,071,000 compared with $471,638,000 for the same period a year ago. Operating income was $36,930,000 compared with $44,103,000 for the same period a year ago. Income from continuing operations was $20,489,000 or $3.82 per diluted share compared with $23,990,000 or $4.49 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. Net income was $19,365,000 or $3.61 per diluted share compared with $22,582,000 or $4.28 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. The full year decrease in revenues for this period is primarily attributable to the completion of Treasury Seized Assets program in March 2014, resulting in a decrease of $27 million; a decrease of $12 million from U.S. Army Reserve program; a decrease in IT, Energy, and Management Consulting Group of approximately $14 million; and a decrease in International Group Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program of approximately $9 million. These decreases were partially offset by an increase in Supply Chain Management Group of approximately $18 million. The full year decrease in operating income resulted primarily from the decreases in revenues in the programs.
