Volvo to Supply 400 V70 Bi-Fuel Cars to Fagelviksgruppen

Volvo is to supply 400 V70 bi-fuel variants to Fagelviksgruppen. The vehicles will be supplied by Volvo Car Sverige and Upplands Motor. The vehicles, which use Volvo's Drive-E engine and use components supplied by Westport such as engine management, will be capable of operating on gasoline (petrol) or compressed natural gas. Orders for the first 200 vehicles have been received for delivery beginning in 2015 with completion planned for the end of February 2016, while the balance of the orders are expected to be delivered by the third quarter of 2016. Volvo Releases XC90 Polestar Upgrades, Considering Fully Developed Variant

Volvo has released Polestar brand upgrades for its XC90 sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the United Kingdom. This increases maximum output of the diesel D5 Drive-E engine to 233-hp and 500-Nm of torque (an increase from 225-hp and 470 Nm), while the gasoline (petrol) T6 Drive-E is boosted to 334-hp and 440-Nm (from 320-hp and 400-Nm). The tweaks are also said to alter the settings of the automatic transmission to enable faster gearshifts as well as prevent changes during rapid cornering. The cost of the upgrades in the UK is GBP835 (USD 1,286). The straight-six gasoline (petrol) turbocharged engine used in the current Polestar S60 and V60 is set to be replaced by a turbocharged and supercharged version of its gasoline 2.0-litre Drive-E engine which will have at least 350-hp. A high-performance XC90 would fall in line with the strategies of BMW and Mercedes which both have M and AMG variants of their large SUVs. However, as with the Volvo brand itself, it is likely to bring its own ideas of performance to market. It may well also leverage Volvo's plug-in hybrid powertrain becoming a first for the high-performance SUV segment. As well as the XC90, Polestar Performance Optimisations have also been released for the D4 diesel and T5 gasoline Drive-E engines. The D4 Drive-E offers 200-hp and 440-Nm (up from 190 hp and 400-Nm), while the output of the T5 Drive-E is raised to 253-hp and 400-Nm (from 245 hp and 350 Nm). The former is available on the S60, V40, V40 Cross Country, V60 and XC60, while the latter is offered for the V40 and V40 Cross Country.
