It provides countertop electronic payment systems that accept card payment options, such as NFC, mobile wallets, chip and PIN, and contactless payments, as well as support credit and debit card, EBT, EMV, and other PIN-based transactions; and a portfolio of application libraries and development tools. The company also offers multimedia consumer facing POS devices; unattended and self-service payment solutions designed to enable payment transactions in self-service environments; and integrated electronic payment systems that combine electronic payment processing, fuel dispensing, and ECR functions, as well as payment systems for integration. In addition, it provides mobile payment solutions for various segments of the mobile point of sale environment; contactless peripherals; network access solutions; security solutions; payment-as-a-service and other managed services, terminal management, payment-enabled media, and payment system security solutions; and server-based payment processing software and middleware, as well as taxi payment solutions. Further, the company offers equipment repair or maintenance, remote terminal management, software post-contract support, customized application development, helpdesk, customer service, warehousing, and encryption or tokenization services. It serves financial institutions, payment processors, petroleum companies, transportation companies, government organizations, healthcare companies, and quick service restaurants; taxi fleets, advertisers and media companies, and merchants and retailers; and distributors, banks and acquirers, system integrators, and independent sales organizations. The company was formerly known as VeriFone Holdings, Inc. and changed its name to VeriFone Systems, Inc. in May 2010. VeriFone Systems, Inc. is headquartered in San Jose, California.

Multicaja Deploys 3G Wireless Payment Terminal Solution from Verifone

Verifone announced that one of Chile’s larger payment processing networks - Multicaja - has begun deploying Verifone’s 3G wireless payment terminal solution to enable merchants throughout Chile to enhance the consumer experience by securely accepting all forms of payment from beyond the counter in any retail environment. The VX 520 3G from Verifone is a portable payment terminal that enables merchants to securely accept all forms of payment from on-the-go customers - in any retail environment. Following a competitive evaluation process, Multicaja selected the Verifone VX 520 3G for its exceptional value and functionality, which includes an integrated color screen, PCI 3.0 compliance and the ability to accept EMV, NFC and all other forms of payment. Multicaja expects to deploy the solution to its new merchant clients throughout 2015. Multicaja connects businesses, banks and consumers across all Chilean regions with its network that processed more than 115 million transactions in 2014. Verifone’s wireless terminal solution supports Multicaja’s gateway services, which are used by more than 5,000 chains and stores to process a multitude of transactions including purchases, bill payment, PayPal redemption, deposits and withdrawals, insurance sales and lottery ticket purchases. Sunil Kappagoda Leaves VeriFone Systems, Inc. as Executive Officer, Effective July 23, 2015

Mr. Sunil Kappagoda, one of the named executive officers of VeriFone Systems, Inc. in his capacity as president of Verifone Asia Pacific, and EVP, Corporate Strategy, no longer serves in that capacity as of July 6, 2015, and will be leaving the company as of July 23, 2015.

Verifone Announces Executive Appointments

Verifone announced the appointment of Steve Aliferis as president of Asia Pacific. Additionally, the company announced the appointment of Arthur Jiang as senior vice president and general manager for China, which was recently established as a separate region reporting to CEO Paul Galant. With more than 20 years of experience in the payments and banking industries, Aliferis has held executive management positions with Commonwealth Bank of Australia, National Australia Bank and Assure Worldwide. He most recently served as head of Business Banking, Product and Australian Financial Services at Westpac Group. Aliferis will join Verifone on August 3, 2015 and will be based in the company’s Singapore office. Jiang began his role as head of China on July 7, 2015 and is based in the company’s Beijing office. He has more than 20 years of experience building growing businesses in China’s payments industry. Jiang is the former CEO and a former board member of PAX Technologies, and has also held senior leadership roles with Gemalto (formerly Schlumberger) and Hi Sun Technologies. Most recently, Jiang served as the vice general manager of Aisino Corporation’s payments business, where he led initiatives to drive merchant acquiring and services in China.
