VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG announced earnings and operating results for the first quarter ended September 30, 2015. The Group result before taxes (EBIT) totaled EUR 9.4 million of EUR 8.5 million, representing an increase of 10.6%, and the net result for the period was EUR 7.9 million against EUR 7.2 million a year ago. Based on the results for the period, earnings per share (basic and diluted) is unchanged at EUR 0.12. The company produced a total volume of 169,746 tonnes of biodiesel and bioethanol in the period from July 1, 2015 to September 30, 2015 compared to 173,060 tonnes a year ago, a fall of 1.9%. VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG Proposes Initial Dividend for Fiscal Year 2015; Announces Earnings Results for the Fiscal Year Ended June 30, 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Fiscal Year 2016

The Supervisory Board of VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG resolved at its meeting held on September 21, 2015 to approve the proposal made by the management board to pay a dividend for the financial year 2015 for the first time since the company's formation in 2006. The Supervisory Board and the Management Board will propose the payment of a dividend of EUR 0.10 per qualifying share at the annual general meeting to be held on January 29, 2016. It is intended to pay dividends on a regular basis in future, assuming that business conditions remain unchanged. The company announced earnings results for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2015. For the year, group revenues fell by 16% to EUR 618.5 million compared to the previous year against EUR 733.8 million a year ago. The fall is primarily due to lower revenues from fossil and biogene fuel trading activities. The result before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization was EUR 50.7 million, 40% above the comparative period against EUR 36.2 million a year ago. The Group's result before taxes and interest increased by 161% to EUR 28.5 million against EUR 10.9 million a year ago. The Group result before taxes amounted to EUR 24.7 million against EUR 6.9 million a year ago. The net result for the period after current and deferred tax income was EUR 26.9 million against EUR 4.0 million a year ago. As a result earnings per share (basic and diluted) were EUR 0.43 against EUR 0.09 a year ago. Verbio attributed the fall in sales to a decrease of revenues at both the Bioethanol and Biodiesel divisions on the back of lower sales prices, despite increased production. The primary driver of earnings growth was the higher level of production capacity utilisation and the effectiveness of further efficiency improvements in the Bioethanol and Biodiesel segments. Based on the current level of sales and raw material prices and the planned plant utilisation, the Management Board expects to achieve an EBITDA of around EUR 50 million in the financial year 2015/2016 and to increase net cash by the end the financial year to approximately EUR 38 million.
