Virgin Australia Holdings Limited announced group earnings and operating results for the half year ended December 31, 2014. For the period, the company reported statutory loss after tax of $47.8 million, an improvement on a loss of $74.3 million in first half of 2014. Total group revenue increased 6.0% to $2,377.5 million compared to the first half of the 2014. The group has delivered a statutory pre-tax loss of $61.5 million for the half year ended December 31, 2014, a $43.0 million improvement over the prior corresponding period loss of $104.5 million. Cash flows from operating activities were $64.8 million for the half-year ended December 31, 2014, up on the prior corresponding period. Cash flows from operating activities were impacted due to some weakness in the forward intakes of the group's international operations. The company incurred a net loss of $53.1 million compared with a $74.3 million loss a year ago. Basic loss per share was 1.5 cents against 2.7 cents a year ago. For the half year, the company reported domestic available seat kilometers of 14,594 million compared to 13,568 million a year ago. Domestic revenue load factor was 78.2% compared to 78.4% a year ago. International available seat kilometers was 8,187 million compared to 7,972 million a year ago. International revenue load factor was 82% compared to 80.2% a year ago.
