Visa Inc. Announces Consolidated Unaudited Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended March 31, 2015; Reaffirms Earnings Guidance for the Full Year of 2015

Visa Inc. announced consolidated unaudited earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported total operating revenues of $3,409 million compared with $3,163 million for the same period a year ago. Operating income was $2,281 million compared with $2,048 million for the same period a year ago. Income before income taxes was $2,282 million compared with $2,061 million for the same period a year ago. Net income was $1,550 million or $0.63 per class A diluted share, $1.04 class B diluted per share and $2.52 class C diluted per share compared with $1,598 million or $0.63 per class A diluted share, $1.06 class B diluted per share and $2.52 class C diluted per share for the same period a year ago. Net operating revenue in the fiscal second quarter of 2015 was increased by 8% nominally or 10% on a constant dollar basis over the prior year, driven by solid growth in service revenues, data processing and international transaction revenues. The strengthening of the U.S. dollar impacted net operating revenues by approximately 2.5 percentage points of negative growth during the quarter. Capital expenditures were $98 million. For the six months, the company reported total operating revenues of $6,791 million compared with $6,318 million for the same period a year ago. Operating income was $4,519 million compared with $4,125 million for the same period a year ago. Income before income taxes was $4,544 million compared with $4,144 million for the same period a year ago. Net income was $3,119 million or $1.26 per class A diluted share, $2.08 class B diluted per share and $5.05 class C diluted per share compared with $3,005 million or $1.18 per class A diluted share, $1.99 class B diluted per share and $4.72 class C diluted per share for the same period a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $2,739 million compared with $3,470 million for the same period a year ago. Purchases of property, equipment, technology and intangible assets was $202 million compared with $217 million for the same period a year ago. The company reaffirmed earnings guidance for the full year of 2015. For the full year, the company expects annual net revenue growth: Constant dollar revenue growth of low double digits, with an expectation of two percentage points of negative foreign currency impact; client incentives as a percent of gross revenues: 17.5% to 18.5% range; Annual operating margin: Mid 60s; tax rate: low 30s; and annual free cash flow greater than $6 billion.

Visa Expands Global Technology Research; Hires Min Wang as Senior Vice President of Visa Research Labs

Visa Inc. announced it is expanding its technology research capabilities globally and appointing Min Wang to Senior Vice President of Visa Research Labs. Min will report directly to Rajat Taneja, Executive Vice President of Technology, Visa Inc. Min joins Visa from Google Research where she was a Senior Staff Research Scientist focused on data mining. Visa Research Labs will expand Visa's research and development capabilities globally. Building on existing technology research and incubator efforts, Visa Research Labs will focus on applied science and deep research. The new function will engage with academics, global think tanks, governments and security experts on emerging technologies that are critical to the payments industry.

Visa Inc. Declares Quarterly Dividend, Payable on June 2, 2015

Visa Inc. announced that its board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.12 per share of class A common stock (determined in the case of class B and class C common stock on an as-converted basis) payable on June 2, 2015, to all holders of record of the Company's class A, B and C common stock as of May 15, 2015.
