The company generates deposit products, including non-interest bearing and interest bearing demand deposits, interest-bearing checking deposits, money market savings accounts, regular savings accounts, and time deposits. Its loan and lease portfolio comprises commercial, financial, and agricultural loans; commercial real estate and construction loans and leases; commercial and residential real estate loans; loans to individuals; and municipal loans and leases. The company also offers lease financing, financial planning, investment management, and brokerage services; insurance products; and investment advisory services comprising discretionary investment consulting and management services. As of April 24, 2015, it operated through 34 branches, as well as 12 smaller locations in retirement centers. The company was founded in 1876 and is headquartered in Souderton, Pennsylvania.

Effective May 27, 2015, Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania appointed Glenn E. Moyer and Dr. Charles H. Zimmerman to serve as alternate directors of the corporation with terms expiring at the 2016 annual shareholders meeting. Glenn E. Moyer served as the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities from April 2011 to January 2015 Mr. Moyer also served as Chair of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency and Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Banking and Securities Commission. Dr. Charles H. Zimmerman has served on the board of directors for the Clemens Family Corporation since 2004 and is an executive consultant in the areas of leadership development and strategic effectiveness. Currently Dr. Zimmerman serves as a member of senior leadership and as teaching pastor at Calvary Church in Souderton - a role he has held for over 20 years.

Univest Corp. of Pennsylvania plans to close six of its 34 financial centers and developed a new, smaller model that it says combines enhanced technology and more emphasis on consultative services provided by customer service employees. The company, which operates main subsidiary Univest Bank, made the announcement during its first-quarter earnings report, the first since it closed its acquisition of Mount Airy-based Valley Green Bank.
