United Community Bancorp operates as the bank holding company for the United Community Bank that provides banking products and services to consumers and businesses in southeastern Indiana. It offers deposit products, such as noninterest-bearing demand accounts, such as checking accounts; interest-bearing accounts, including interest-bearing checking and money market accounts; regular savings accounts; and certificates of deposit, as well as municipal deposits. The company also provides one- to four-family residential real estate loans, multi-family real estate loans, and nonresidential real estate and land loans; construction loans; agricultural loans; commercial loans; and consumer loans comprising home equity loans, lines of credit, and loans secured by savings accounts or certificates of deposit, as well as new farm and garden equipment, new and used automobiles, recreational vehicle, and secured and unsecured personal loans. As of October 10, 2014, it operated a network of eight branch offices, including five branches located in Dearborn County and three branches located in adjacent Ripley County. The company was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

United Community Bancorp and United Community Bank (bank) announced the appointment of Julie A. Mattlin and John Sutton, Jr. to the Board of Directors of the company and the Bank. Ms. Mattlin is a principal with MAC Consulting, LLC. She is also a principal with DKMG Consulting LLC. Mr. Sutton has served as Executive Director, Great Parks of Hamilton County since 2002. United Community Bancorp reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended March 31, 2015. The company has reported a net income of USD 694,000, or USD 0.16 per diluted share, for the third quarter ended March 31, 2015, compared to net income of USD 583,000, or USD 0.12 per diluted share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2014. Net interest income increased USD 95,000 to USD 3.2 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2015 compared to the same period in the prior year. This resulted from an increase of USD 30,000 in interest income and a decrease of USD 65,000 in interest expense. Net income for the nine months ended March 31, 2015 was USD 1.8 million, or USD 0.41 per diluted share, compared to net income of USD 1.9 million, or USD 0.40 per diluted share, for the nine months ended March 31, 2014. Net interest income increased USD 262,000, or 2.8%, to USD 9.5 million for the nine months ended March 31, 2015 as compared to USD 9.3 million for the nine months ended March 31, 2014. Increase in net interest income was due to an increase of USD 71,000 in interest income and a USD 191,000 decrease in interest expense.
