United States Antimony Corporation produces and sells antimony, silver, gold, and zeolite products in the United States. The company’s Antimony division offers antimony oxide that is primarily used in conjunction with a halogen to form a synergistic flame retardant system for plastics, rubber, fiberglass, textile goods, paints, coatings, and paper. Its antimony oxide is also used as a color fastener in paints; as a catalyst for the production of polyester resins for fibers and films; as a catalyst for the production of polyethelene pterathalate in plastic bottles; as a phosphorescent agent in fluorescent light bulbs; and as an opacifier for porcelains. In addition, this division offers sodium antimonite for use as a fining agent for glass in cathode ray tubes and as a flame retardant; antimony metal for use in bearings, storage batteries, and ordnance; and other precious metals. The company’s Zeolite division provides zeolite products for various applications, including soil amendment and fertilization, water filtration, sewage treatment, nuclear waste and other environmental cleanup, odor control, gas separation, and animal nutrition. Its zeolite products also have applications in catalysts, petroleum refining, concrete, solar energy and heat exchange, desiccants, pellet binding, horse and kitty litter, and floor cleaners, as well as acts as carriers for insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides. The company was founded in 1968 and is based in Thompson Falls, Montana.

United States Antimony Corporation (UAMY) announced earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2014. For the quarter, the company reported sales of antimony reached $1,881,018, but loss dropped from $559,329 in the third quarter to $253,684 in the fourth quarter. For the year, the company reported revenues of $10,772,192, and the loss of $1,595,455 which included $780,782 of depreciation. The loss was primarily due to: a drop in the price of antimony for the year of $0.59 per pound from $5.30 in 2013 to $4.17 in 2014. A delayed hook-up of natural gas in Mexico cost $500,000 of energy savings. Holding costs of $688,619 due primarily to solving a metallurgical issue which delayed production at Los Juarez silver-antimony-gold property and its associated mill at Puerto Blanco mill. In 2015, the company plans to increase production to 4.0 million to 4.5 million pounds, which includes approximately 1.2 million pounds from a Canadian off-take contract, more than 1 million pounds from Mexico, and up to 2.5 pounds from an Australian off-take contract. For the year, the company record antimony production of 1,727,804 pounds.

For the nine months, achieved an all time record production of 1,358,518 pounds for the nine months ending September 30, 2014. For the quarter, sales were even stronger at 529,129 pounds up 59% from 332,106 pounds the previous quarter.
