Tyco International Ltd. designs, sells, installs, and services security, fire detection, suppression, and life safety products worldwide. It operates in three segments: North America Installation & Services, Rest of World Installation & Services, and Global Products. Its electronic security systems include detection devices; asset protection and security management systems; anti-theft systems; access control solutions, such as integrated security management systems, access control solutions applications, alarm management panels, door controllers, readers, keypads, and cards; video system solutions, such as digital video management systems, matrix switchers and controllers, digital multiplexers, programmable cameras, monitors, and liquid crystal interactive displays; and burglar alarms and interactive security systems, such as alarm control panels, keypads, sensors, and central station receiving equipment for homes and businesses. The company also provides monitored residential and small business security systems; installation and monitoring services; and patrol and response services. In addition, the company offers fire detection and suppression systems, such as fire alarm control panels, fire alarm monitoring systems, smoke and flame detection systems, heat and carbon monoxide detectors, and voice evacuation systems; water-based sprinkler and chemical suppression systems; hazard suppression systems; and products for the joining of piping. It offers its products under the Tyco, SimplexGrinnell, Sensormatic, Wormald, Ansul, Simplex, Scott, and ADT brands to commercial, industrial, retail, institutional, and government markets, as well as residential and small business markets. It was formerly known as Tyco Laboratories, Inc. and changed its name to Tyco International Ltd. in January 1993. The company was founded in 1960 and is based in Mahon, Ireland.

Tyco International Ltd. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended June 26, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net revenue of $2,489 million against $2,660 million a year ago. Operating profit was $253 million against $297 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $237 million against $277 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations was $188 million or $0.44 per diluted share against $437 million or $0.93 per diluted share a year ago. Net income attributable to the ordinary shareholders was $156 million or $0.37 per diluted share against $1,450 million or $3.11 per diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $249 million against $152 million a year ago. Capital expenditures were $59 million against $75 million a year ago.
