Textron Inc. operates in the aircraft, defense, industrial, and finance businesses worldwide. It operates through five segments: Textron Aviation, Bell, Textron Systems, Industrial, and Finance. The Textron Aviation segment manufactures business jets, turboprop aircraft, piston aircraft, military trainer and defense aircraft, and parts, as well as provides maintenance, inspection, and repair services. The Bell segment manufactures and supplies military and commercial helicopters, tiltrotor aircraft, and related spare parts and services. The Textron Systems segment produces unmanned aircraft systems; smart weapons, airborne and ground-based sensors and surveillance systems, and protection systems; armored vehicles, turrets, and related subsystems, as well as marine crafts; test equipment and electronic warfare test, and training solutions; piston aircraft engines; and intelligence software solutions. This segment also designs, develops, manufactures, installs, and provides maintenance of full flight simulators, as well as offers training services. The Industrial segment offers blow-molded plastic fuel systems, windshield and headlamp washer systems, catalytic reduction systems, and engine camshafts, as well as plastic bottles and containers; golf cars, off-road utility and light transportation vehicles, aviation ground support equipment, professional turf-maintenance equipment, and specialized turf-care vehicles; and powered equipment, electrical test and measurement instruments, mechanical and hydraulic tools, cable connectors, fiber optic assemblies, underground and aerial transmission and distribution products, and power utility products used in the construction, maintenance, telecommunications, data communications, electrical, utility, and plumbing industries. The Finance segment provides financing to purchase aircrafts and helicopters. Textron Inc. was founded in 1923 and is headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island.

Textron Inc. Announces Unaudited Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended July 4, 2015; Confirms Earnings Guidance for the Full Year of 2015

Textron Inc. announced unaudited earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended July 4, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported revenues of $3,247 million against $3,505 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $241 million against $210 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations was $169 million or $0.60 per share against $145 million or $0.51 per share a year ago. Net income was $167 million or $0.60 per share against $144 million or $0.51 per share a year ago. Net cash from operating activities of continuing operations was $224 million against $379 million a year ago. Capital expenditures were $94 million against $106 million a year ago. For the six months, the company reported revenues of $6,320 million against $6,352 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $425 million against $335 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations was $297 million or $1.06 per share against $232 million or $0.82 per share a year ago. Net income was $295 million or $1.05 per share against $229 million or $0.81 per share a year ago. Net cash from operating activities of continuing operations was $205 million against $353 million a year ago. Capital expenditures were $173 million against $172 million a year ago. For the full year of 2015, the company expects net cash from operating activities of continuing operations to be in the range of $941million to $1,041 million, capital expenditures to be $475 milllion, non-GAAP manufacturing cash flow before pension contributions to be $550 million to $650 million. The company confirmed 2015 earnings per share from continuing operations guidance of $2.30 to $2.50.
