Textron Inc. operates in the aircraft, defense, industrial, and finance businesses worldwide. It operates through five segments: Textron Aviation, Bell, Textron Systems, Industrial, and Finance. The Textron Aviation segment manufactures business jets, turboprop aircraft, piston aircraft, military trainer and defense aircraft, and parts, as well as provides maintenance, inspection, and repair services. The Bell segment manufactures and supplies military and commercial helicopters, tiltrotor aircraft, and related spare parts and services. The Textron Systems segment produces unmanned aircraft systems; smart weapons, airborne and ground-based sensors and surveillance systems, and protection systems; armored vehicles, turrets, and related subsystems, as well as marine crafts; test equipment and electronic warfare test, and training solutions; piston aircraft engines; and intelligence software solutions. This segment also designs, develops, manufactures, installs, and provides maintenance of full flight simulators, as well as offers training services. The Industrial segment offers blow-molded plastic fuel systems, windshield and headlamp washer systems, catalytic reduction systems, and engine camshafts, as well as plastic bottles and containers; golf cars, off-road utility and light transportation vehicles, aviation ground support equipment, professional turf-maintenance equipment, and specialized turf-care vehicles; and powered equipment, electrical test and measurement instruments, mechanical and hydraulic tools, cable connectors, fiber optic assemblies, underground and aerial transmission and distribution products, and power utility products used in the construction, maintenance, telecommunications, data communications, electrical, utility, and plumbing industries. The Finance segment provides financing to purchase aircrafts and helicopters. Textron Inc. was founded in 1923 and is headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island.

Textron Systems Support Solutions announced the introduction of its new unmanned systems training course catalog. Building on the company's decades of experience and millions of service hours devoted to training and deploying skilled unmanned systems operators and maintainers around the world, this new catalog offers a comprehensive range of unmanned systems coursework. Textron Systems' coursework covers a wide range of knowledge from basic aviation and information technology background, to platform-specific operations, mission and maintenance considerations. Students also are prepared with detailed instruction around the culture, regulations and customs of the area in which operations will take place. Training methods also can be tailored to the customer and application. Classroom instruction can be held in a variety of group sizes, or delivered via web portal, while hands-on training is emphasized throughout to give students confidence in their operations, maintenance and mission execution skills.

Textron Inc. Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended April 04, 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Full Year of 2015

Textron Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended April 04, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net income of $128 million or $0.46 per share on total revenue was $3,073 million against net income of $85 million or $0.30 per share on total revenue was $2,847 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $184 million compared to $125 million a year ago. Income from continuing operations was $128 million or $0.46 per share against income from continuing operations was $87 million or $0.31 per share a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities of continuing operations was $19 million compared to $26 million a year ago. Capital expenditures were $79 million compared to $66 million a year ago. For the year of 2015, the company expects earnings per share from continuing operations guidance of $2.30 to $2.50 and its expectation for cash flow from continuing operations of the manufacturing group before pension contributions of $550 to $650 million with planned pension contributions of about $80 million.
