Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited manufacturers and sells railway freight cars and hydro-mechanical equipment in India. The company operates in two segments, Heavy Engineering and Steel Foundry. It offers high payload stainless steel freight wagons, commodity-specific wagons, special purpose freight wagons, bottom discharge hopper wagons, container rakes, tank wagons, loco shells, coach bogies, break vans, and export wagons for the transport of petroleum, chemicals, cement, alumina, transformers, etc. The company’s steel foundries produce bogies, CMS crossings, couplers, draft gears, coach couplers, shroud castings, barber design side frame and bolster castings, CMS frogs, and rotary yokes, as well as industrial castings for earth moving equipment and hydro power projects. It also provides hydro-mechanical equipment and steel structures comprising barrage gates, expansion joints, gantry cranes, goliath and EOT cranes, trashracks/screens, radially travelling hoists, penstocks/pressure shaft liners, trash rack cleaning machines, flyovers, power house and industrial structures, triangulated bridge girders, and ship hull blocks. In addition, the company offers process equipment consisting of waste heat recovery boilers and multi-fuel boilers; chemical plant machinery, such as pressure vessels, horton spheres, double-walled cryogenic vessels, heat exchangers, columns, scrubbers, etc.; sugar machinery, including pressure feeders and heavy duty shredders; agro machinery comprising power tillers and reaper swather mini harvesters; gas coolers; and clay filters. Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited also exports its products. The company was incorporated in 1998 and is based in Kolkata, India.

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited reported unaudited standalone earnings results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported gross sales of INR 1,276.1 million. EBITDA was INR 1.0 million and net loss was INR 41.0 million after providing for interest and depreciation. The performance for the quarter was severely impacted due to abrupt downward revision of price by Railways against existing wagon orders due to predatory prices quoted by one of the Bidders against tender for wagons for 2015-16, resulting in zero despatches of Indian Railways wagons from end April 2015. The company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 894.282 million against INR 416.125 million for the same period previous year. Loss from operations before other income & finance cost was INR 57.168 million against INR 100.871 million for the same period of previous year. Loss from ordinary activities before tax was INR 41.044 million against INR 78.422 million for the same period of previous year. Loss profit from ordinary activities after tax was INR 41.044 million or INR 0.20 per basic and diluted share compared to INR 78.422 million or INR 0.43 per basic and diluted share for the same period of previous year.
