TDK Corporation Introduces New Series of EPCOS X2 EMI Suppression Capacitors

TDK Corporation has introduced a new series of EPCOS X2 EMI suppression capacitors with stable capacitance values, even under extremely humid conditions. The B3292 H/J series for operating voltages of up to 305 V AC comprises types with rated capacitances ranging from 0.1 µF to 15 µF and lead spacings from 15 mm to 37.5 mm. The operating temperature range is from -40 C to +110 °C. In addition, the capacitors, which employ a metallized polypropylene dielectric (MKP), also feature excellent self-healing properties that allow weak dielectric areas to be burned out in the event of overvoltages. The robust capacitors perform reliably under severe ambient conditions, easily passing the damp heat test. Here, they must operate for at least 1,000 hours at a temperature of 85 °C, a relative humidity of 85% and a voltage of 240 V AC without a change in capacitance of 10% or more. Thus, the new X2 capacitors are perfectly suited for applications in harsh environments, such as the capacitive power supplies in outdoor energy meters, for example, and in across-the-line industrial applications.

TDK Corporation Announces the Introduction of 600W High Voltage Models

TDK Corporation announced the introduction of 600W high voltage models to TDK-Lambda’s Z+ series of programmable DC power supplies. This extensive series is now available with output voltages of 0-10, 0-20, 0-36, 0-60, 0-160, 0-320 or 0-650VDC and with output powers of 200, 400, 600 and 800W. These higher voltages address the requirements for applications such as deposition processes, remotely operated underwater vehicles, ATE systems as well as general laboratory and industrial use. The TDK-Lambda Z+ 600W high voltage models have the same features and compact dimensions (2U high and 2.76” wide) as the existing models and achieve efficiencies of up to 89%. The units can operate in either constant current or constant voltage modes and accept a universal 85-265VAC input. Up to 6 units can be connected in parallel (master-slave configuration), or 2 identical units in series with external diodes. All the Z+ series can be programmed via the front panel controls or remotely using the USB, RS232/485 or analog control interfaces. Optional LAN, GPIB (IEEE488) and isolated analog programming interfaces are also available. CE marked for the EMC, Low Voltage, and RoHS Directives, the Z+ series conforms to EN55022/EN55024 as well as IEC/EN61326-1 for conducted (FCC part-15-B) and radiated (FCC part-15-A) EMI. Safety certifications include UL/EN/IEC61010-1 and the series is designed to meet UL/EN60950-1. All models carry a five-year warranty. TDK Corporation Expands its NTCG04 Lineup of IEC 0402 Case Size

TDK Corporation has expanded its NTCG04 lineup of IEC 0402 case size (EIA 01005) SMD NTC thermistors with a new type featuring a nominal resistance of 10-kO and a narrow tolerance of just 1%. The new component complements the existing 100-kO type in 0402. With its miniature dimensions of just 0.4 mm x 0.2 mm x 0.2 mm, the NTCG04 lineup is optimally suited for temperature measurement and compensation of microcontrollers and displays in communication modules, mobile devices, and wearable devices. The characteristics of the 0402 types are equivalent to those of the 0603 (EIA 0201) case size products, thus supporting the design of even smaller communication modules and increasing the mounting density in mobile devices. Achieving these ratings in a 0402 component was made possible by further optimizing both the source materials and the manufacturing process. Mass production of the new NTCG04 type is scheduled to begin in July 2015.
