Toshiba Corporation, has entered into licensing agreement with Compal Electronics Inc. on a new business structure for television (TV) brand in Europe. The implementation of the licensing process is scheduled to begin from July 2015.

Toshiba Corporation and Toshiba Lifestyle Products & Services Corporation Reaches Agreement with Third Party on New Business Structure for TV Brand Licensing in the European Market

Toshiba Corporation and Toshiba Lifestyle Products & Services Corporation announced that they have reached an agreement with a third party on a new business structure for TV brand licensing in the European market. Toshiba will partner with Taiwans Compal Electronics Inc., the same company it is partnering with in North America. To the extent permitted by applicable law in the concerned countries, the implementation of the licensing process is scheduled to begin from July this year, after signing of the contract by the companies. Following on from North America and Europe, Toshiba is also continuing negotiations with third parties on TV brand licensing in the ASEAN countries. Toshiba Group will continue to further refine optimal business structures in order to secure stable profit.

Toshiba Corporation Develops SSD Simulation and Analysis Platform for Design Optimization

Toshiba Corporation has developed an SSD design optimization platform that realizes efficient analysis of various SSD simulations, greatly reducing work on design optimization. Toshiba will present details at the Design Automation Conference in San Francisco, California on June 8. Toshiba has developed a unified SSD design optimization platform made up of ArcHunter, which carries out a variety of SSD simulations, and Polyspector, which summarizes simulation results for efficient analysis. Together, they allow easy construction and comparison of a wide variety of SSD models, and support efficient searches for optimal combinations of design parameters. A particularly important achievement is the use of general-purpose tools for SSD model development and simulation analysis tasks previously performed by hand, realizing significant reductions in the optimization workload.
