Trimble Announces New Field Service Management Features to Improve Mobile Workforce Productivity

Trimble announced that it has added new features to its Field Service Management solutions to significantly improve workflow visibility and streamline operations for businesses and their mobile workers in the field. New features have been added to Trimble's Work Management solution, an intelligent scheduling engine and FieldMaster Technician, a downloadable mobile app that enables workers to access and update information in real-time. These solutions work together to enable real-time information sharing between mobile workers and the back office and are part of Trimble Horizon, a new dynamic platform for Trimble's FSM solutions and service. Cloud-based and modular, Trimble Horizon enables organizations to drive an agile, dynamic field service operation. New features in FieldMaster Technician include the ability for a technician to copy or create a task on site so they can carry out and account for work immediately. Site history can also be accessed and viewed in the app, allowing the technician to arrive with the necessary knowledge of work previously carried out. Details of each crew member assigned to a task and the tools that have been booked can be viewed, enabling the improved visibility of resources. In addition, technicians are now able to upload forms and photos to attach to a task or job. FieldMaster Technician 1.2 will also send the mobile workers' location from their GPS-enabled smartphone or tablet in real-time. This allows businesses to better understand the progress of their field operations and dispatch work based on a technician's accurate location.

Trimble Selects as Liebherr's Construction Technology Partner for Austrian Roadshow

Trimble announced that it has been selected as Liebherr's construction technology partner for its upcoming Austrian Roadshow beginning in April 2015. The Liebherr Roadshow will travel through Austria and the Czech Republic making stops in five locations. At each location, visitors will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the latest Liebherr machines equipped with the Trimble GCS900 Grade Control System and the Trimble Loadrite weighing solution. Trimble 3D machine control has revolutionized the way earthworks are performed. The GCS900 Grade Control System is a cutting-edge earthmoving grade control system that puts design surfaces, grades and alignments inside the cab. The system uses GNSS, GPS, laser, sonic or total station technology to accurately position the blade or bucket in real time, significantly reducing material overages and dramatically improving the contractor's productivity and efficiency. Trimble will demonstrate the Trimble GCS900 Grade Control Systems on a Trimble Ready crawler tractor Liebherr PR736. Liebherr machines with the Trimble Ready option have the cabling and brackets for Trimble grade control components already installed. A Trimble Ready machine from Liebherr helps reduce Grade Control System installation time, simplifies the installation and makes moving the system from one machine to another easy. The Trimble Ready option is available for Liebherr PR714, PR724, PR736 and PR754 crawler tractors. The Trimble LOADRITE weighing system for excavators provides equipment operators, site foremen and project managers with accurate payload weights. The system allows them to ensure that machines are loaded to optimal capacity and that loads are accurately recorded. The Trimble Loadrite system will be shown on a Liebherr material handling machine LH 35 M. The Liebherr Roadshow presents an opportunity for contractors to see many of the Trimble's Connected Site solutions in action on a variety of Liebherr construction machines. Roadshow visitors will get hands-on experience and be able to talk with specialists about the advantages of the Connected Site solutions developed to optimize and integrate operations across the construction site and the office, thereby enabling improved planning and significantly greater productivity.

Trimble Navigation, Ltd. Launches WM-Form Land Forming Solution

Trimble Navigation Ltd. has launched the WM-Form land forming solution for leveling, surface drainage and irrigation. WM-Form is an end-to-end agriculture solution for field survey, topography analysis, design creation, reporting and cost estimation, land forming and verification. With easy-to-use surface design tools and flexible parameters, growers and earthworks contractors can use the WM-Form solution to repair underperforming areas and extend the amount of productive farmable land. It can reduce the volume and cost of earthworks and minimize disturbance to valuable topsoil. Growers can use the solution to optimize water distribution and drainage, reduce erosion and flooding by effectively directing waterflow, and create more uniform crop production which can lead to increased yield. Growers and earthworks contractors can use the WM-Form solution from survey to verification. They can collect 3D field data using the Trimble WM-Topo survey system, or the FmX integrated or TMX-2050 displays. Users can then analyze topographic data in the WM-Form software to identify surface problems that are limiting yield potential and use the software's flexible design tools to create a design that optimizes their field's surface. The software also provides reports for volume, area and constraints, providing contractors and growers with an accurate quote on the total cost of the project. Users can leverage the 3D design to conduct land forming operations using the Trimble FieldLevel II system, and then verify that the design has been accurately completed using the Trimble WM-Topo survey system. The WM-Form solution is expected to be available worldwide by the end of March 2015. The WM-Form software provides flexibility, allowing users to design variable-shaped fields based on existing topography, the water needs of individual crops, and individual farming practices. It allows users to: drain water in any direction or to a linear feature such as a ditch or existing drainage system; create surface designs for furrow irrigation; split a field into sections and create designs for each section individually; generate multiple design variations for the field, then compare them in 3D view against the original topography; produce 2D cut/fill estimates and reports; interact with Connected Farm for license and acreage management; and level fields with custom/best-fit single or multiple planes.
