Travis Perkins plc, together with its subsidiaries, operates as a builder’s merchant and home improvement product retailer in the United Kingdom. The company operates through four divisions: General Merchanting, Plumbing & Heating, Contracts, and Consumer. The General Merchanting division supplies building materials for various types of repair, maintenance, and improvement projects, as well as new builds to sole traders and house builders. This segment also supplies kitchens and joinery products to specialist joiners, local authorities, and house builders. The Plumbing & Heating division supplies the trade with plumbing, heating, bathroom, and related products to plumbers, independent merchants, large contractors, house builders, and public services under the City Plumbing Supplies, Plumbing Trade Supplies, F & P Wholesale, Direct Heating Spares, and Birchwood Price Tools brands. This division also supplies power tools, hand tools, and site equipment; and distributes renewables technology. The Contracts division supplies civils, heavy building materials, and drainage solutions to trade professionals and specialist contractors; interior building products, including ceilings, drywall, flooring, insulation, partitioning, and fire protection products to the construction industry; and pipeline, heating, and mechanical services equipment. This division offers its products under the Keyline, BSS, and CCF brands. The Consumer division supplies domestic building and decorative materials through retail stores. This division retails tools and hardware, and ceramic tiles. The company sells its products through its stores, as well as through order in-store, online, or telephone. In addition, it is involved in the property management business. The company was formerly known as Sandell Perkins Public Limited Company and changed its name to Travis Perkins plc in October 1988. Travis Perkins plc was founded in 1797 and is based in Northampton, United Kingdom.

Travis Perkins plc Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for the Six Months Ended June 30, 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015

Travis Perkins plc reported consolidated earnings results for the six months ended June 30, 2015. For the six months, the company reported revenue of £2,943.0 million compared to £2,730.5 million a year ago. Operating profit was £176.3 million compared to £166.4 million a year ago. Profit before tax was £158.6 million compared to £153.7 million a year ago. Profit for the period was £126.8 million compared to £123.2 million a year ago. Profit attributable to the owners of the company was £126.8 million compared to £123.1 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per ordinary share was 50.1 pence compared to 49.0 pence a year ago. Net cash from operating activities was £166.2 million compared to £197.0 million a year ago. Development of software was £9.0 million. Purchase of property plant and equipment was £121.5 million compared to £64.5 million a year ago. Adjusted operating profit was £185 million compared to £175 million a year ago. Adjusted profit before taxation was £167 million compared to £162 million a year ago. Adjusted net profit after taxation was £134 million compared to £130 million a year ago. Adjusted earnings per share was 54.2 pence compared to 53.4 pence a year ago. Lease adjusted ROCE was 10.5% compared to 10.5% a year ago. Strong two-year like-for-like sales growth is expected to continue through 2015, with the Group's overall medium-term sales growth expected to remain at around 6 to 7%. EBITA growth in the low double-digits is expected to continue, driven by higher volumes and improved operational efficiency, partially offset by continuing investment. Property profits are expected to be around £20 million in 2015, weighted towards the second half of the year. Capital expenditure is now expected to be above £200 million in 2015 as freehold investments, branch network expansion and the improvements to store formats are accelerated reflecting the Group's success in identifying opportunities. The actual level of capital expenditure will however depend on the quality and availability of freehold sites. The effective tax rate is expected to be approximately 20% and dividend growth should continue to surpass EBITA growth in order to achieve the targeted medium-term cover range of 2.5x to 3.25x.
