Telekom Austria AG, together with its subsidiaries, provides fixed line and mobile communication services to individuals, commercial and non-commercial organizations, and other national and foreign carriers. The company operates in five segments: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Belarus, and Additional Markets. It offers long distance, local, and wireless services; corporate data communications services; and television broadcasting services. The company’s fixed line services include access services, Internet, fixed to mobile calls, international traffic, voice value-added services, interconnection, call center services, and public payphone services; and mobile communications services comprise value-added services, text and multimedia messaging, m-commerce, and information services. It also provides voice telephony, access to emergency services, directory services, Internet access, data and IT solutions, wholesale services, IP television and other IP based services, and payment solutions; and sells end-user terminal equipment. In addition, the company is involved in the supply of telephones and technical equipment for telephone communications; sale of handsets; and setting up of customer lines, which include installation work. It serves approximately 20 million mobile customer base and 2.7 million fixed access lines. The company is based in Vienna, Austria.

Telekom Austria is reducing the number of management jobs in southeast Europe in a bid to reduce costs in the region. Management positions will be grouped in clusters, a structure similar to the one used by its Mexican parent, America Movil, in Latin America.

Telekom Austria Reports Earnings Results in Macedonia for the First Quarter of 2015

The Telekom Austria Group saw 17.6% growth in the first quarter revenues in Macedonia, to EUR 15.9 million from EUR 13.5 million a year earlier. The increase included EUR 2.9 million from the fixed operator Blizzo acquired last year. The company also reported a 36.6% increase in EBITDA to EUR 3.4 million, while EBIT was down 48.1% to EUR 0.2 million.

Telekom Austria Announces Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended March 31, 2015; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Year 2015 and 2016

Telekom Austria announced earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported net profit soared 127.5% on-year to EUR 92.7 million. Operating expenses fell to EUR 661.3 million from EUR 672.2 million. In Austria, the incumbent's fixed broadband and TV customer bases increased 5.2% and 6.6% respectively. Group revenue fell 2% to EUR 956 million, which Telekom Austria attributed primarily to currency fluctuations driven by the Belarusian rubble, and the impact of EU regulation on roaming and interconnection rates. EBITDA increased to EUR 338.5 million from EUR 319.9 million, driven mainly by strong operating performances in Austria and Belarus. Net profit more than doubled in the first quarter due To intensive cost cutting and growth at its domestic broadband and TV divisions. The company reiterated its full-year 2015 outlook. It expects revenue to grow 2% and plans for capital expenditure of EUR 700 million to EUR 750 million. Profit per share is seen at EUR 0.34 in 2015. Profit per share is seen at EUR 0.38 in 2016.
