Toromont Industries Ltd. provides specialized capital equipment and customer support services in Canada, the United States, and internationally. It operates through two segments, Equipment Group and CIMCO. The company offers earthmoving and construction equipment, paving machines, mining and forestry equipment, and diesel engines for trucks, industrial and marine applications, and power generation. It also provides customer support services, including job site services; equipment monitoring services; replacement parts distribution; and engines and engine components remanufacture and repair. In addition, the company offers mobile equipment rental and compact construction equipment purchase solutions, such as commercial and industrial machines and tools, lift systems, concrete-related building materials, and propane; and engineers, constructs, commissions, and operates energy plants fuelled by natural gas, landfill gas, biogas, and diesel fuel that provide energy to hospitals, district energy systems, and industrial processes. Additionally, the company is involved in the design, engineering, sale, installation, and after-market service of industrial and recreational compression equipment primarily for beverage and food processing, cold storage, food distribution, mining, and recreational ice surface markets. Toromont Industries Ltd. was founded in 1961 and is based in Concord, Canada.

Toromont Industries Ltd. announced unaudited consolidated financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. The company announced net income was CAD 45.7 million or 59 cents per basic share in the three months ended Dec. 31. That was up from CAD 34.4 million or 45 cents per share in the same 2013 period. Revenue rose to CAD 465.6 million from CAD 407.3 million with improvements in both its Equipment Group and CIMCO business segments. Operating income was up 29% in the quarter, due to higher revenues, a favorable sales mix of product support to total revenues, improved rental margins on higher utilization and contained expense levels. For the year, the company reported revenue of CAD 1,660,390,000 against CAD 1,593,431,000 a year ago. Operating income was CAD 184.812 million against CAD 173.962 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was CAD 180.778 million against CAD 169.062 million a year ago. Net earnings were CAD 133.196 million or CAD 1.71 per diluted share against CAD 123.031 million or CAD 1.59 per diluted share a year ago, mainly attributable to higher revenues and improved gross margins partially offset by higher expenses. Return on equity was 23.0% against 25.7% a year ago. Cash, provided by operating activities was CAD 143.510 million against CAD 200.538 million a year ago. Book value per share was CAD 8.65 against CAD 7.50 a year ago. Additions to property, plant and equipment was CAD 26.457 million against CAD 25.680 million a year ago. Return on equity was total 18%. Operating income was up 9% for the year, due to higher revenues, a favorable sales mix of product support to total revenues, improved rental margins on higher utilization and contained expense levels.
