Philippine Airlines and Turkish Airlines Announce Code-Sharing Partnership Effective as of 01 July 2015

Philippine Airlines and Turkish Airlines jointly announced the start of a code-sharing partnership effective as of 01 July 2015 that enables both flag carriers to tap into new markets and offer their passengers more travel options. The parties intend to expand the codeshare agreement when the frequencies of the operations between the two countries will be increased. Such an expansion of the codeshare agreement will allow passengers to benefit from better connectivity and increased travel flexibility between the Philippines and Turkey and beyond the carriers' respective networks. Philippine Airlines and Turkish Airlines will work in cooperation to contribute tourism and cultural exploration, and to promote business travel between the Philippines and Turkey.

Turkish Airlines Signs New Technology Deal with Sabre

Sabre has signed a new technology agreement with Turkish Airlines, to provide its AirCentre Flight Plan Manager solution to streamline the airline's operations. Since the start of this agreement, Sabre has worked closely with Turkish Airlines to implement AirCentre Flight Plan Manager to provide vital cost savings and support key flight planning decisions. Under the new agreement, the solution will provide a significant support for strengthening the flag carrier's position within the regions it serves.

EVA Air Inks Code Share Agreement with Turkish Airlines

As part of the agreement, EVA Air will place its marketing code on Turkish Airlines' daily flights to Taipei during the first stage of the partnership. Later, EVA will start Taipei-Istanbul service next year and Turkish Airlines will place its code as reciprocal on EVA operated flights. The code share agreement will enable passengers to benefit from a higher number of combined frequencies for better connectivity and improved travel flexibility between two countries. The route will attract leisure and business travellers from Taipei and Asia as it takes no more than two to three hours to fly to major cities in Europe including Frankfurt, Barcelona, Lisbon, Copenhagen and Stockholm. The agreement will see both the airlines working together to boost tourism and cultural exploration in Taipei and Istanbul and to facilitate business travel between the two regions. Furthermore, EVA and Turkish Airlines will sign a special prorate agreement (SPA) that allows passengers who book connecting flights with one ticket and check baggage all the way through to their destination.
