It operates in two segments: Power, and Petroleum and Mining. The company operates and maintains a 52 megawatt (MW) power generation plant, including the related facilities, and machinery and equipment, as well as trades in electricity in the wholesale electricity spot market. It also operates a 21 MW diesel plant in La Union, as well as a 3.4-MW diesel power plant situated in Guimaras; and constructing a 54MW wind energy project in San Lorenzo, Guimaras. The company was formerly known as Trans-Asia Oil and Mineral Development Corporation and changed its name to Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation in April 1996. Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation was founded in 1969 and is based in Makati City, the Philippines. Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation is a subsidiary of Philippine Investment-Management (PHINMA), Inc.

Ayala Corp. and Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation Joint Venture to Complete 270-Mw Coal Facility by Yearend

Ayala Corp. and Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp. expects to complete the second of two units of its 270- megawatt (MW) coal facility by the end of the year. SLTEC is a 50-50 joint venture between Phinma Group’s Trans-Asia and Ayala’s AC Energy Holdings Inc. The joint venture is investing P23 billion in the entire project, which will operate as a base load power plant.

Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2015. For the quarter, revenues were PHP 532,283,000 compared to PHP 458,440,000 a year ago. Income before income tax was PHP 74,961,000 compared to PHP 180,176,000 a year ago. Net income attributable to equity holders of the parent company was PHP 65,455,000 or PHP 0.01 per basic and diluted share compared to PHP 109,786,000 or PHP 0.02 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash flows from operating activities were PHP 728,747,000 compared to net cash flows used in operating activities of PHP 1,016,086,000 a year ago. Additions to property and equipment were PHP 34,319,000 compared to PHP 519,584,000 a year ago.

Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation reported audited consolidated and parent earnings results for the full year ended December 31, 2014. On consolidated basis, revenues went down by 15% from PHP 2.02 billion in 2013 to PHP 1.71 billion. Consolidated net income attributable to equity holders of the parent company for the year ended December 31, 2014 amounted to PHP 182.6 million against PHP 572.8 million last year, due to as a consequence of the above cited factors. Return on equity was 2.51% against 8.15% last year. Return on assets was 2.27% against 7.90% last year. Return on equity went down due to lower income in 2014. Return on asset dropped as average total assets increase by 49% and net income decreased by 69% in 2014. Income before income tax was PHP 313.5 million against PHP 732.5 million last year. Basic/diluted earnings per share were PHP 0.04 against PHP 0.12 last year. Net cash flows used in operating activities was PHP 1,033.9 million against net cash flows from operating activities of PHP 174.6 million last year. Property and equipment was PHP 3,831.9 million against PHP 1,406.4 million last year. On parent basis, revenues were PHP 1,042.6 million against PHP 508.8 million last year. Income before income tax was PHP 448.4 million against PHP 249.7 million last year. Net income was PHP 310.8 million against PHP 165.7 million last year. Basic/diluted earnings per share were PHP 0.06 against PHP 0.03 last year. Net cash flows used in operating activities was PHP 678.2 million against PHP 308.8 million last year. Property and equipment was PHP 23.7 million against PHP 7.2 million last year.
