TRANS-ASIA Oil and Energy Development Corp. Secures Two-Year Contract to Supply Power Needs of 11 Electricity Distributors in Visayas

TRANS-ASIA Oil and Energy Development Corp. has secured the two-year contract to supply the power needs of 11 electricity distributors in the Visayas. These distributors were identified as Don Orestes Romualdez Electric Cooperative; Leyte II, III, IV, V Electric Cooperative; Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative; Biliran Electric Cooperative; Samar I and II Electric Cooperatives; Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative; and Northern Samar Electric Cooperative. Subject to negotiation of a mutually-acceptable power supply agreement, Trans-Asia will supply the Region 8 Electric Cooperatives an aggregate baseload demand of 40 MW (megawatts) in 2015 and 20 MW in 2016. The supply will come from the 40-MW strips of energy from Unified Leyte geothermal power plant.

For the quarter, the company reported revenues of PHP 28,664,805 against PHP 545,852,815 a year ago. Loss before income tax was PHP 206,820,296 against income before tax of PHP 276,072,449 a year ago. Net loss was PHP 157,631,969 against net income of PHP 176,029,747 a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported revenues of PHP 600,234,038 against PHP 1,574,357,113 a year ago. Income before income tax was PHP 116,825,472 against PHP 684,602,095 a year ago.
