It also provides various online products and solutions comprising HyppMe, a smart mobile application offering voice, instant messaging and SMS over Internet protocol, and call functionality; My1Content, a content portal; and TM World, a mobile application for information, as well as HyppTV, an Internet protocol television service. The company serves has 2.3 million phone customers and 1.8 million broadband customers; 345,597 small and medium enterprise broadband clients and 10 hotels. It also operates 133 channels for HyppTV, including 50 premium channels, 16 video-on demand genres, 20 interactive channels, and 27 free live TV channels, such as radio channels. The company was incorporated in 1984 and is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd Announces Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year Ended December 31, 2014

TELEKOM Malaysia Bhd announced earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2014. For the fourth quarter, the company's net profit fell 36.5% year-on-year to MYR 218 million on the back of a 5.96% increase in revenue to MYR 3.16 billion. The lower net profit was due to higher operating cost while the improved revenue was attributed to bigger contributions from its Internet and multimedia and data services. For the fourth quarter, pre-tax profit slipped to MYR 253.68 million from MYR 309.68 million in the quarter previously. Group EBITDA registered a 9.2% rise quarter on quarter from MYR 879.4 million in third quarter 2014 to MYR 960.4 million in fourth quarter 2014. For the full year, the company's net profit fell 17.8% year-on-year to MYR 831.8 million but revenue grew 5.71% to MYR 11.24 billion. the company posted a higher pre-tax profit of MYR 1.10 billion for the financial year ended December 31, 2014 compared with MYR 1.04 billion in 2013. Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) for fiscal year 2014 was 2.9% higher against fiscal year 2013 at MYR 3.64 billion. Continued high capex and shareholder returns will result in company's cash flow metrics remaining inconsistent with the current A3 rating.

Telekom Malaysia Bhd Secures Two Deals

Telekom Malaysia Bhd secured two broadband contracts worth MYR 3.4 billion from the government. The group received a letter of award (LoA) for the implementation of the MYR 1.8 billion High Speed Broadband Phase 2 (HSBB 2) and MYR 1.6 billion Sub-Urban Broadband (SUBB) projects. Both HSBB 2 and SUBB are for a period of 10 years.
