It also provides various online products and solutions, including HyppMe, a voice and mobile messaging application; My1Content, a content portal; and HyppTV, an Internet protocol television service. The company serves 2.8 million phone customers and 1.8 million broadband customers; 346,002 small and medium enterprise broadband customers and 59 hotels. It also operates 121 channels for HyppTV consisting of 56 premium channels, 21 free channels, 5 radio channels, 16 video-on demand channels, 22 interactive channels. Telekom Malaysia Berhad was incorporated in 1984 and is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2015

Telekom Malaysia Berhad reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported operating revenues of MYR 2,840.6 million compared to MYR 2,821.8 million a year ago, mainly due to higher revenue from Internet and multimedia and non-telecommunication services partially offset by decline in voice, data and other telecommunication services. Profit before taxation and zakat was MYR 256.1 million compared to MYR 309.4 million a year ago. Profit attributable to equity holders of the company was MYR 212.1 million compared to MYR 214.1 million a year ago. Basic and diluted earnings per share were 5.7 sen compared to 6 sen a year ago. Group Reported EBIT was higher by 25.5% to MYR 305.5 million. Group Normalised EBIT was higher by 22.0% to MYR 297.8 million on the back of higher revenue and better cost management. For the six months, the company reported operating revenues of MYR 5,614.7 million compared to MYR 5,441.8 million a year ago, mainly due to higher revenue from Internet and multimedia, other telecommunication related services and non-telecommunications related services partially offset by decline in voice and data services. Profit before taxation and zakat was MYR 428.2 million compared to MYR 589.0 million a year ago. Profit attributable to equity holders of the company was MYR 341.0 million compared to MYR 424.7 million a year ago. Basic and diluted earnings per share were 9.2 sen compared to 11.9 sen a year ago. Net assets per share attributable to ordinary equity holders of the company were 204.8 sen compared to 203.6 sen a year ago. Cash flows from operating activities were MYR 833.4 million compared to MYR 822.6 million a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 1,016.8 million compared to MYR 874.8 million a year ago. The total capital expenditure for first half of 2015 was MYR 686 million or 12.2% of revenue, of which MYR 428 million was spent in second quarter of 2015.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (KLSE:TM) is looking for acquisitions. Chief Executive officer, Zamzamzairani Mohammed Isa said, “However, I would like to mention that physically we are starting to roll out. And as we mentioned earlier, we already have sites, about 2,000 sites with P1. So we, whilst we continue to acquire more sites, we are starting to roll out the sites that we already have. So that's how we're doing the, taking up the P1 project rollout.”
