Telus Corporation Expands Public Wi-Fi Network Across British Columbia and Alberta

Telus Corporation announced the expansion of its public Wi-Fi available to more than 8,000 hotspots across British Columbia and Alberta. The Wi-Fi network integrates seamlessly with TELUS' 4G wireless network, automatically shifting TELUS smartphone customers to Wi-Fi and helping them moderate their use of wireless data. TELUS is working with thousands of businesses, including brands like 7-Eleven, Fountain Tire and Vancity credit union, to provide public Wi-Fi at locations throughout B.C. and Alberta.

Telus Announces to Invest $1 Billion in Fiber-Optic Network in Edmonton, Canada

Telus announced that it is spending $1 billion to connect homes and businesses in Edmonton, Alberta in Canada to its fiber-optic network over the next six years. The move is a part of the firm's plan to invest an additional $4.2 billion in Alberta through 2018. By 2018, the company will have invested more than $45 billion in Alberta since 2000.

Onemove Technologies has signed an agreement with Telus Corp.'s electronic mortgage processing solutions division to fully integrate assyst real estate into econveyance. The integration enables econveyance to offer assyst real estate to all of its users in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. Telus's assyst real estate is a bilingual and Web-based mortgage solution designed to facilitate instructing, financing, and reporting of mortgage loans for lenders and the legal community. With it, lenders can send mortgage instructions electronically to notaries, lawyers and their staff in real time. In turn, these professionals can complete mortgage transactions from end to end on-line, in a more secure and confidential manner. Assyst real estate speeds up the processing of transactions, reduces paperwork, cuts back on costs and reduces the risk of clerical error.
